that you are interested in watching. There are a whole lot of bowls out there that I wouldn't waste my time watching but these interest me. 1. ND/Bama ...probably everybody has this #1 2. Oregon/Kansas State...two teams that were once #1 could be a great game. 3. Stanford/Wisconsin...two teams that are coming on strong and are probably way better now than at the start of the seaon. 4. Texas A&M/Oklahoma ...Old Big 12 Rivals 5. Texas vs Oregon State....kind of like a crash at a NASCAR event, you just can't not look. 6. South Carolina vs Mich .....no comment. 7. Gators vs Louisville... That's really about all I could come up with out of 35 games. I'm sure I'll watch more than those games but it'll just be because I'm home in front of the TV.
Good list TOK.....very unusual year. Not really looking forward to any outside the BCS Champ game....Stanford/Wisky will be a bruiser for sure....others interesting but not really a compelling slate this year
This is a topic Scott and I were discussing. Here was my list (in date order, not preference order): Alabama/ND – better than last year’s NCG Toledo/Utah St. – local flavor Baylor/UCLA – I’m intrigued to see if P12 defense can slow B12 offense down any more than the B12 effenses did tu/Oregon St. – same, plus this is the last check to see how good Oregon St. really is (they’re in the same boat as KSU in my head, they’ve proved they’re good, but everything I know about the teams says they can’t be) LSU/Clemson – I don’t think Clemson is great or anything, but I don’t think LSU’s offense is any better plus who knows how much harm Les might do S. Carolina/Michigan – Michigan might pull this one out and if so, will put the lie to six SEC teams in the top 10 (or top 15) Wisconsin/Stanford – bone crushing off-tackle rushing for a full four quarters, what’s not to like? NIU/FSU – I think NIU will give FSU all they can handle, and if so, my view that the MAC is a pretty good conference will be supported (better than the ACC is even a possibility if NIU wins) Oregon/KSU – Oregon SHOULD kill KSU, but I want to see it in case it turns into a game A&M/Oklahoma – I always want to see A&M do well and OU is probably the best matchup for which the B12 could have hoped Kent St./Arkansas St. – just kidding, although it will be the last CFB game for 8 months
Not sure I can find ten 1. ND/Bama ...( match up of teams that personify college football;the TV ratings for this will go through the roof; BAPP desert. Does not get better than this. ) 2. South Carolina vs Mich ( although based on nicknames an Oregon State-South Carolina match up would be a better fit) 3. Stanford/Wisconsin...( no matter how hard those that run college football screw it up, the RB still remains the one bowl game I will always try and watch) 4. Texas A&M/Oklahoma ...great pairing although I am a little surprised the SEC did not try and place Georgia here since Okla is the best team the SEC will face in a second tier bowl matchup. 5. Oregon/Kansas State. ( 2nd best game of the bowl season) 6. Mich State-TCU ( Big 10 and homeland bias on display here) 7. LSU v Clemson ( two quality teams facing off-a rarity this bowl season) 8. NW v Mississippi State ( rooting for NW to get its first bowl win in over 60 years)
I see that some benefactor has stepped up and Orange Bowl tickets will be free for NIU students. I'll bet that is one semi-empty stadium.
And a ND alum who wishes to keep his identity a secret donated 375K to the school so that its students could see the game at 1/2 of the regular ticket price. Not sure how long Sid's donation will remain a secret. http://www.rantsports.com/ncaa-football/2012/12/02/generous-gesture-by-alum-helps-notre-dame-students-attend-bcs-title-game/
Alabama - Notre Dame Oregon - Kansas State Texas A & M - Oklahoma Florida - Louisville (only cause I am a Gator and Charlie Strong coached us) LSU - Clemson South Carolina - Michigan
Bobda, how did you find out???? Unfortunately, after that donation, I can't afford to go myself.
8) 1. Notre Dame/Alabama (Steel cage death match; two go in only one comes out.) 2. Oregon/Kansas State (If K-State thought Baylor was fast, boy are they in for a surprise! The Duckies by 80!) 3. LSU/Clemson (The Mad Hatter finally melts down and is hauled off in a padded golf cart.) 4. Texas A&M/Oklahoma (Big Game Bob lives down to his nackname again.) 5. SCar/Oregon State (Who creates these matchups......Corey?) 6. Stanford/Wisconsin (We have our German beer, Hollywood tour guides and Maps to the Star's Homes ready. Please keep sending them every year. It's the only economic activity that we have left!)
