Guys and Gals, Please read this in its entirety. If you want more information on this topic, send me an e-mail and tune in to this topic for future videos. Once in a blue moon we are presented with an opportunity like Cindy and I have run across. Through a Facebook group called Central Texas Sweet Rides, we met an amazing lady named Celia Belt. She was a burn <del>victim</del> survivor. She started a charity named Moonlight Fund. It now benefits our service men that have fallen victim to burn and blast wounds in our country’s defense. She gives them the emotional and financial help to give them that survivor attitude. I have personally seen the looks in our warriors faces at BAMC when they see her walk into the room. She is making a huge difference in their lives. Their broken bodies are no boundary to their expectations for a meaningful life. Cindy and I have made the trip to BAMC twice and will be going again as part of a 200+ car caravan to put on a Car show in San Antonio to benefit the Moonlight Fund this weekend. Our little Facebook group has put together $1200 in a few hours to buy six soldiers Kindle Fire HD units to be able to keep in touch with friends and family around the world while they are confined to the hospital. It is our hope to be able to keep buying these for the many, many soldiers that pass through BAMC on a day to day basis. Celia’s work and our participation is being documented by Casey Porter and his videos can be seen on Youtube. I have embedded the first in a series of videos he is making on this topic. It is just a little over 3 minutes. Please view it and I will keep posting the series as they become available. In this video he mentions “Your Ride is Here” which is another charity to which our Facebook group donates time and energy. It benefits cancer victims getting them to and from their treatments in style. We just had a young man pass away that was in this program. His dream car was the Viper. He received several trips to his appointments in two of the members’ Vipers. He also received a surprise visit from Ralph Gilles, head of the Dodge SRT program, and the new 2013 Viper. He died one week to the day from that surprise. Casey compares the work we are doing with the wounded warriors to the work we are also doing with Your Ride is Here program in this video. <iframe width="560" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/y7KhB3TDbrM" frameborder="0"></iframe>
