Well these guys will be in town this week....be nice Tim! They had a big win over E. Kentucky last week. But even with that they have named a new starting QB in Terbush. Not sure why with the big win with the other guy. Irish are 14 pt favorites and should win, but it will be a much tougher test than Navy. Hopefully our guys will have recovered from all the transatlantic flying and be ready to play on Sat. Tommy and Carlo back in uniform, Cierre gets another week off.
Don, no doubt! Oh and it turns out that TerBush didn't play in the E.Kentucky game because he was serving a 1 game suspension.

I find it a bit confusing. Marve has more potential to hit big plays...he is more of a gunslinger and risk taker. He also makes more mistakes/turnovers. I think he looked quite good last week except he had a tendency (as in every time) to run out of the pocket only to the right side. Other than that I liked what I saw and I figured he would surely be the starter this week. However Hope has seen them both all spring and said (even before the suspension last week) that Terbush had a great spring and has practiced very well this fall. The suspension was for breaking some unspecified team rule. Terbush is a capable quarterback who takes good care of the ball and makes pretty good decisions but doesn't take many chances. Reminds me a lot of Craig Krenzel, except that we don't have as good of a supporting cast for him. I'm guessing that he is starting because of how well he's practiced and because of a couple turnovers generated by Marve last week. Rob Henry, meanwhile, may have more potential than either of them, except that he is a work in progress and a bit rusty, having missed all last year due to the ACL virus epidemic that struck Purdue last year. He had played quite well prior to that. some people advocate moving him to receiver because we have a bunch of redshirt freshmen and next year recruits coming in at quarterback. http://www.hammerandrails.com/2012/6/22/3110943/restocking-the-cradle-purdue-and-the-elite-11-quarterbacks I am NOT a fan of the rotating quarterback thing...but it did give us (now) three quarterbacks with lots of game experience. I hope that we settle on one soon. Hope seems to like to play two quarterbacks during the game, but he started the same guy all year last year.
Oh, by the way, I feel pretty good about this Purdue team. People have talked about Danny Hope being on the hot seat but I don't see why. Purdue hasn't exactly scared anybody while he's been coach, but we have steadily improved each year under him, despite problems with injuries. I even started deluding myself into thinking that we might have a shot at you Saturday, but after the pasting you put on Navy I'm afraid not. I figure 4 losses or so this year and a low level bowl.
I think I read somewhere that Purdue will have one of the better defenses in the Big 10 this year. No doubt though Purdue QB's have to be licking their chops at getting two first time starters at CB for the Irish and one of them being a true freshman.
Oh, by the way (2) for all you Irish... The Purdue band is traveling and marching in the St Patrick's Day Parade next year...in Dublin. http://www.purdue.edu/bands/news/110821ireland.php
Stu I tried to figure out who's drum was really the biggest, the Purdue or Texas drums. But I never could find exactly the Diameter of the Purdue Drum, the wiki on Purdue says it is "nearly" 4 feet in depth and "about" 8 feet in diameter. The Texas one says, 8 ft diameter and 44 inches depth, no abouts or nearly's.... Texas does claim to be the biggest drum as of course does Purdue. Surely somebody has exact measurements.
ND <r><QUOTE><s> </e></QUOTE> Answer, YES!! I'm fairly confident ND wins this one and yes Terry, I'm trying to be nice but it's hard, REAL hard. <br/> <br/> You can bring the drum, call in Yukon Cornelius(otherwise know as Joe Tiller), drive the train into the stadium and it's not gonna matter. ND will win!<br/> <br/> Go Irish!</r>
I found a reference that the Purdue Drum is 1.25 meters wide (about 4 feet) and 2.5 meters in diameter (about 8 feet). According to Wiki;
If you are tailgating at Purdue...drink responsibly or else! Indiana Excise Police If you get caught up, just mention you know Sid! FWIW they supposedly arrested over 100 Purdue students last weekend. We really need to change the law to make 18 the drinking age.
Tom, Good call on the Tree Band. This is yet another game that I will not be able to watch. Carson's birthday party will be starting... at 2pm Is there a place I can watch it online later? Perhaps pulling it up on the ps3 so I can ensure HD?
Continues to be weeping and gnashing of teeth over ND crowds at football games. Lots of people complain that ushers are over active in getting after people who stand up and cheer and cheer loudly..thus irritating the "older" fans around them who want to sit and peacefully watch the game. Eric Hansen even had an interview with Swarbrick over this item and Jack said they wanted to improve the atmosphere at the stadium. Brian Kelly was asked at his press conference about it and adroitly said he needed to put a better team on the field and that would take care of things. This is a new poster that ND will be putting out on game day.
