Mike Stoops not Bob Stoops that is. I understand where he is comming from, it's how Kansas State got it's program restarted. But unless JO'Co's been lying, Az is able to recruit very well and shouldn't really need to have 4 patsies on the schedule. Certainly he's right that very few teams added a 12th game against a good school, even the Irish tossed in Army to it's schedule to fillout the 12th game. Also I hadn't realized that the PAC10 was requiring 9 conference games, I'm not sure why they did that it, as he said every other conference stayed with 8 game schedules. I like that they did, it allows for 1 more patsie sure, but maybe allows for a few really good intersectional games as well.

    BDR what are your thoughts?

I read the article this morning and I'm still not happy about it, Terry. I'm hoping that Coach Stoops is speaking out of frustration following the LSU debacle, and it probably doesn't help that USC follows this week's game. No way do I want to see Arizona adopt a Bruce Snyder scheduling philosophy. Credit AD Jim livengood for his input...
I welcome the full Pac-10 schedule this season. It's good to see every school in the conference playing every other school. I don't want a 12-team conference with the attending divisions and championship game.

Stoops has had good recruiting classes and the team is making strides, if somewhat slowly. The offensive line continues to be a weakness, although it's now more young than thin. The team still stands a good shot of going 6-6 or 7-5 this season, but it will take quite a bit to pull that off.

I wonder how Stoops would like to coach in the SEC week in and week out.

Consider Meyer having to prepare for at Tenn, Alabama, LSU, at Auburn and Georgia. Throw a game at FSU in for good measure and you think Stoops would trade?

He's got it pretty good in the PAC 10 and is not likely to get his ass beat by anyone other than USC in a similar fashion as LSU did it.

One thing is that if he did coach in the SEC and it wasn't at Kentucky,Vandy or Mississippi State the recruiting would be much easier. At places like Fla, Georgia, Alabama, Auburn, LSU rosters are filled pretty easily with excellent talent that is relatively local. He doesn't have that going for him at AZ he has to come into Texas and battle the state schools here and go to So. Cal as well and battle the Cal schools.
