This quote is just a little sour, I mean by the time we got the ball back even with the old rules the game was over. We were down 24-7 Mack, for 54 minutes we couldn't score more than 7 points, why oh why did you put out there that the new rules took away your chance for a offensive flurry of 17 points in 6 minutes just to get a tie???? Now I agree with his point that the new rules are bad, but for him to suggest they cost him the game....well maybe he was still suffering from the effects of getting run over on the sidelines. I didn't see it but supposedly he got a busted lip sometime during the game from a sideline incident at the end of a play. Mack on the new time rules
It is a silly thing to say, but if it helps get those rules repealed, I'm right behind him! 8) One or two possesion leads used to be very exciting (or excrutiating), but now the clock runs out so fast, it's not nearly as entertaining...
8) I agree with Scott. Anything to get rid of these bogus rules. They hurt the possiblity of comebacks and they limit playing time for subs. If they really wanted to cut time, why didn't they just shorten the clock to 12 minute quarters like high school football? Lets get rid of these stupid short cuts... ..............JO'Co
Terry & All, I saw the article and the subsequent poll, where 87% disagreed that it it caused Texas to lose the game. Has anyone herd of any coach liking the rule. I know Tressel has aired his feelings and not in favor of the changes. Don
There... <t>Was nothing wrong with the college game last year to cause these new rules. I hate the change.<br/> <br/> Buckeys are a much better team this year.</t>
You got it, Sid. Two things I hate to hear; blaming a loss on the rules or the refs. Texas would not have won that game if they played four more quarters.
tex/osu <r>Terry,<br/> <br/> I don't like the new "time" rules either but I agree with the others that it wasn't going to effect the outcome of this game. <br/> <br/> Texas will get better as the new QB gains experience. <E>:?</E></r>
