Scored 3rd place in the Block House Creek car show today sponsored by the LCC (Longhorn Corvette Club). 1st and 2nd place went to Corvettes. That just means that I took 1st place in the non-Corvette section. There were 28 cars and 19 were Corvettes.
I went into this just for the fun of displaying the car. I had no idea that it would bring a trophy home. I almost didn't go because of too much work waiting in the office. Glad I took the time to relax for a while. Maybe I'll do more of that. Thanks guys.
Sid... Yes I was... and still am! Bobda, I claim to the LCC that it is my Corvette in disguise. ;-) You may see someone you know here especially at the 24 to 38 second mark (one of only two cars with the American Flags flying), 1:37 to 1:40 mark (the old man schools the young guys), and 2:20 to 2:24 mark (the definition of relaxation and enjoying the day... without alcohol :!: ). <iframe width="560" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/sZLly76Vw5Q" frameborder="0"></iframe>
The beginning of our Sunday run on 1-July. It had been raining but the streets dried out about half way through the run to Lake Belton. I show up twice in this video... once at the 1:30 mark and once toward the end. It is only about 2:30 long. I did not realize that this car was running a GoPro camera. <iframe width="420" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/4Y_twaFNdn4" frameborder="0"></iframe>
Tom one of these summers you might want to travel up here and participate in the Woodward Dream Cruise. It's a little event that we have here that draws about 1.5 million folks. http://www.woodwarddreamcruise.com/About/History.aspx
Well, the car is back in our remote garage and I am in the Grand Cherokee in Tennessee. Health issues with my 95 year old grandmother have me worried about her care givers, members of the family in their 70's, ability to keep up. I may be working from my "Tennessee Office" for the next week to possibly a month. I am as far Southeast in Tennessee as you can get, Harrison, Tennessee, a suburb of Chattanooga.
Hey Tom, here's an article on this year's Woodward Dream Cruise. Drew an estimated 1.35 million folks yesterday. Thousands of beautiful classic cars cruising or just displayed proudly by their owners. http://www.detroitnews.com/article/20120819/AUTO02/208190313/With-perfect-weather-happy-crowds-2012-Dream-Cruise-one-our-best-?odyssey=tab|topnews|text|FRONTPAGE
