As one of the leading proponents of the Tiger will never win another Major again crowd. I guess I might have to revise my thinking, 3 PGA tour wins already certainly points to Tiger while maybe not the same player he was can certainly be called the best player on tour this year. While none of this guarantees he'll win a major I have to concede he's a threat to win and if his leg holds up he could win another major or 2, whether he can win 5 more is of course the issue. It will be interesting to see how he plays in the British. In the AT&T he was very accurate hitting those 3 wood and 5 wood stingers off the tee and only got in trouble when he got out the big club and took a rip. The British Open always requires discipline and if he can keep the driver in the bag and continue to putt well he could win.
Tiger will be on a roller coaster ride, up and down. Consistency will be the key to wining the majors.
This is not my sport, but I had this conversation with my family a few weeks ago. I think Tiger will win a lot more: including majors. Championship effort comes from the inside...
He needs his A game to win now. Before his knee blew out he was able to win with his B game and dominated when he had his A game. He's had to rebuild his swing to keep from ripping the knee apart again. As he has more confidence and less physical fear in his swing, the better he'll be. He has 2 areas of concern at this point. His putting is not nearly as accurate as it once was. Most of all, I think that there is still that nagging doubt about his game that once again failed over the weekend at the US Open. If he improves in putting the doubt will disappear.
 But did you see the shot from behind the tree . Amazing. !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
#18 345 off the tee when everyone thought he would play the 3W. Then 188 in with a 9I. Nobody else plays those kind of sequences.
BTW I've been told that those guys don't play standard lofts that they are all stronger than what we play..specifically I was told that Phils Pitching wedge is bent to an 8 iron.
Not to mention that the 8 iron in your bag is probably about the loft of a 7 iron from the 1960's. That's one inexpensive way for the club designers to get more distance. http://dmmoyle.com/MMOYLECUSTOMCLUBS/SetHistory.asp
I remember back in the 80's when Ping was becoming big in the iron market. Their lofts were about 10 yd. shorter than the others such as Titleist. They did however have square grooves.
