"This is the Great American Social Security Lie.

It is a lie concocted by those seeking to fulfill Wall Street's eternal quest to get its sweaty palms on trillions of dollars of our retirement cash, allowing them to expand their casino operations beyond their wildest imaginations -- and Wall Street has a very healthy imagination."

Just one of many lies by the group that has the conservative movement in it's back pocket.

Do you ever think for yourself? Ever go to the source for factual information, absorb it and draw your own conclusions?

Here is the quote from the Social Security Trustees themselves....
Here is a link to the full report....decide for yourself

Maybe Dave...but don't be marking this guy down as a conservative because the Forbes symbol is there.

He is a liberal blogger for Forbes...not at all conservative...and this whole article is based on conclusions of the very liberal Economic Policy Institute. And of course you pulled it from MSN.com

One response to the article was as follows...

Stu...I realized of course from the start that the writer is not a conservative......no conservative would foster that argument he puts forth because they love to love the idea of disbanding Social Security and placing the fiscal fate of America's retirees in the greedy hands of Wall Streeters who would jump at the chance to get rich even by mismanaging other's money.

That seems to be the way the Street works. Failure IS an option!

Preferring instead, of course, to place it in the highly competent and qualified hands of the sainted bureaucrats who occupy Capitol Hill and take their marching orders for societal design only and directly from God Almighty himself.....

The notion that the nation's wealth is better served being managed by the politically-motivated bureaucrats and lobbyists in Washington DC than profit-driven managers in financial institutions around the country is just.....bizarre.

The thought of sending your 401(k) or IRA to Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid for their administration is one for the ages.....

I don't have much faith in those profiteers BT who choose to gamble recklessly with other people's money and still get paid millions if they fail miserably.

If there wasn't such a crony capitalism mentality on Wall Street and there were more personal accounatbility for failure maybe people including me would see it differently.

The notion that these guys can safely, ethically and honestly take everyone's retirement money and not have their own personal best interests at heart instead is truly preposterous.

Dude, you live in a fantasy world of your own making using the ingredients of wacko conspiracy theorists and complete lack of understanding and therefore any appreciation of the mechanics of our free enterprise/capitalism system.....

The ONLY place somebody can be evidenced to be completely unqualified, incompetent with a proven track record of failure without the slightest accomplishment and be in consideration to continue in the same capacity is in Washington DC.....with you my friend and your ilk leading the cheers

    Again....from Forbes:

"It is a lie concocted by those seeking to fulfill Wall Street's eternal quest to get its sweaty palms on trillions of dollars of our retirement cash, allowing them to expand their casino operations beyond their wildest imaginations -- and Wall Street has a very healthy imagination."

Yeah...just a fringe few of us believe Wall Street is not trustworthy with our social security funds.....

Go on defending your cronies to the hilt.....it's transparent.

The only problem the commie blogger has in putting forth his claims is that they are in direct contradiction with the report issued to the President, Senate, House of Representatives and the citizens of the United States by the Trustees of the program responsible for it's oversight....other than that, I'm sure he has a solid case

That begs the question.....just who are the Trustees of the program? I'm glad you asked.....here is their conclusion and their certified sigs.....
Wall Street bloodsuckers all no doubt......
