Bravest Generation storms the beaches and kicks Nazi butt. Those guys went in against terrible odds, so many died even before they reached the beaches, the beaches were hell but they pushed on and saved the world. God Bless them all.
God Bless 'em all.... Standing on the bluffs overlooking Omaha Beach and considering the defensive positions, fortified entrenchments filled with machine gun placements reinforced from the rear with mortar and artillery positions with overlapping fields of fire covering every inch of beachfront, the only thought that comes to mind is indescribable courage.....
I agree T And then you see that beautiful cemetery and think about how many had that beach as their last place on earth.
Without a doubt Gip, one of the most moving experiences in my entire life.....the wife and I made it a point to take the kids there recently to show them firsthand that 1) freedom isn't free, 2) we owe much to those that have sacrificed all for what many take for granted....and here we are today facing down the opposite.....the destructive cycle of the entitlement mentality

God bless the Greatest Generation. God bless those who gave their lives on D-Day and in every war there's been to protect our freedom.

Obama did not even mention D-Day to my knowledge. Here is how he commemorated the solemn day. Excerpted from MSN news: President Obama made his second campaign stop in Los Angeles in as many months on Wednesday, capitalizing on the goodwill he gained from his recent marriage-equality endorsement with two fund-raisers geared toward the LGBT community. The first event drew around 600 supporters to the Beverly Wilshire hotel, while the second was a much smaller affair at the Beverly Hills home of "Glee" creator Ryan Murphy. At the Beverly Wilshire, the president stressed the progress his administration made over his first term and cited the challenges ahead. "I could not be prouder of the work that we've done on behalf of the LGBT community," Obama said, following a series of opening acts and a boisterous standing ovation.
