Sitting at the bar waiting on a carry out ( translation: having a martini after work ) and at the end of the bar is this ninny who is there every time I go there who monopolizes the one TV down at that end with Fox News. He stands there and chuckles to himself about whatever is scrolling across the bottom of the screen or basically whatever the right wing media outlet deems as news that day. Frankly it's a bit creepy. In any event last night scrolling across the bottom was something about a questioner at a Romney news conference asking Romney if President Obama should be tried for treason. It did add Romney ignored him but the implication was that there was a legit person close enough to Romney to be asking the question......and seemed to be saying to it's Fox News audience out there......is Obama guilty of treason amongst his other many heinous crimes? To me......viewing that scrolling message on Fox News speaks volumes about where the right is today. Frankly.....it's a little bit creepy.
 Are you telling me that the left is above such behaviors? Watch MSNBC some time or Bill Maher, or, etc, etc, etc....
George Stephanopoulos asked Santorum about contraception and started a whole ******** debate about Republicans and contraception. It may have been another case of a liberal press member hoping to get a response and create a new trumped up issue. Believe me if Romney had responded to the question it would have been on the radical left networks. How many right wing monsters have you found under your bed this month?
Treason?? Come on man..... The problem is there are millions of creepy chucklers out there just nodding their collective puny heads in agreement when they read a scroll like that on their biblical and beloved Fox News. Creepy man....creepy.
More creepy than the "millions of creepy chucklers out there just nodding their collective puny heads in agreement when they read a scroll like that on their biblical and beloved" MSNBC discussing war crimes and the like for members of the Bush administration???? Creepy man.....get your head out of your a$$ and open your eyes if you want people to take you seriously
Equally absurd....except for perhaps Halliburton and Cheney. They made so damned much money off the Iraq war that relationship merits a thought or two. Halliburton stock price Jan. 1 2003....three months before the invasion of Iraq: $9.36 per share Halliburton on Jan. 1 2007: $38.02 per share .....more than a 400% increase 4 years after the invasion. Just natural market forces at work......right?
We all know Apple has created some of the greatest innovative and useful prducts in the history of mankind. Other than being the benefactor of an extremely costly ( to U.S. taxpayers ) war in Iraq over some imaginary WMDs what did Halliburton do exactly?
Just sayin George that war crimes talk about the Bush administration are as uncomfortable and inappropriate as the treason questions are about Obama and reasonable thinking people don't give either much cred. But Halliburton and their no bid contracts to perform work in the aftermath of a highly questionable war will always remain suspicious to many even if prosecution is probably a dead issue these days.
The subsidiary of Haliburton that did the major construction was Kellog, Brown, & Root. They have a very interesting history of political involvement that did not begin with the Bush administration. Here's a sample One of its first large-scale projects, according to the book Cadillac Desert, was building a dam on the Texas Colorado River near Austin during the Depression years. For assistance in federal payments, the company turned to the local Congressman, Lyndon B. Johnson. Brown & Root was the principal source of campaign funds after Johnson's initial run for Congress in 1937, in return for persuading the Bureau of Reclamation to change its rules against paying for a dam on land the federal government did not own, a decision that had to go all the way to President Franklin Delano Roosevelt, according to Robert A. Caro's book The Path to Power. After other very profitable construction projects for the federal government, Brown & Root gave massive sums of cash for Johnson's first run for the U.S. Senate in 1941. Brown and Root reportedly violated IRS rules over campaign contributions, largely in charging off its donations as deductible company expenses, according to Caro. A subsequent IRS investigation threatened to bring criminal charges of illegal campaign donations against Brown & Root, as well as Johnson and others. Roosevelt himself told the IRS to back off and allowed Brown and Root to settle for pennies on the dollar. They went on the fund not just Johnson but were very large contributors to the election of Democrats in congress. Because Johnson controled the purse strings, LBJ became a congressional leader with little seniority. When I hear Libs whining about Haliburton I chuckle at the hypocracy as though the evil powerful government contractor has always been a Republican benefactor. They only became evil when they gave to the other guy. Give me a break!
Did you hear that on one your ultra-left wing blogs.....it would serve you well to do a little more research on this particular issue on your own before they make you look silly.....I'll say no more
Halliburton is really an old debate here......and it still leaves questions....many questions. Here's a nice read: http://salonesoterica.wordpress.com/2007/06/28/the-banality-of-greed-halliburton-profits-soar-with-the-spoils-of-an-endless-iraq-war/ Also read an article detailing the 2.5 billion US taxpayer dollars that KBR wasted in their futile Iraq "oil reclamation project"....... In any event......it strays from my original post to discuss this cronyistic rip-off scheme any further in this topic.
 Cheney couldn't profit from Halliburton stock. It was all placed in a blind trust before he became VP and he's paid a fixed income from that trust.... BTW- a lot of people own Halliburton stock, including me. The company makes things like the world's only environmentally safe fracking fluid...
JO'Co you're wasting your time....like lemmings, many people can't do their own independent research nor draw from it the logical conclusions that result. It's that very consumer, and only that very consumer, that keeps the lib/dem socialist rags in business.....
