I was a fan of this clown until two years ago, when I saw him on TV parading his own little baby in front of an adult crocodile. He didn't believe that wild animals could kill him or his family. He thought he was too clever. Now he's dead at age 44; killed by a stingray while filming off the Great Barrier Reef for another one of his TV adventures. What a fool... http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20060904/ap_en_tv/obit_irwin
well <t>if you keep running thru the sprinklers, sooner or later you're going to get wet.<br/> <br/> it sucks for his family, but that had to happen sooner or later. Just like that guy who hung out with the Grizzley bears, the numbers finally caught up to him.</t>
The only thing that surprises me about this is that this was not some dangerous stunt that he was trying to pull, like going into the water with crocs/gators or picking up an 8' Black Mamba, or something like that. He ws just swiming above a stingray, as the articles say most people are injured by steping on them and what are the chances that the Ray would pop him directly in the heart instead of a lung or something like that. They were filming the incident and I wonder how long it will be till a pirated copy reaches the internet. It's a shame, he leaves behind a wife and children. My condolences go out to them.
The guy really knew how to toy with his life. But it was what he loved and he really knew how to handle all these dangerous animals. Shocking it happened the way it did. RIP Steve Irwin
