Urban Meyer unleashes new spread and hurry up offense before 80,112 fans on a abnormal cool and damp Saturday. It was 80 degrees here and sunny on Friday. I would estimate we actually had closer to 60,000 in the stadium, but it turned out to be an enjoyable day for those attending. Plays called were in favor of the passing game by a margin of 3-1 over the running game. Scarlet team with Braxton Miller won 20-14. A freshman receiver by the name of Thomas turned out to be a surprise and maybe a big play maker this fall. Our receiving corps has been under fire for being inconsistent, with the exception of Stoneburner a tight end. Offensive line should be much imroved this year for the running game and pass protecting for Miller. Special teams did not come into play yesterday by choice. Miller said only about 30% of the plays were used and mostly pretty much basic stuff. Fans are fired up for this fall, so we will wait and see what transpires. Go Bucks!
Don, looks like they sold 80,000 tickets but the rain and weather kept many at home especially given that it was shown live on the Big Ten Network....looking forward to the summer camp.
