 Bobby Valentine was brought in to kick arse and run the crybabies out of the dugout. Those players had their chance with a nice guy who led them to World Series titles, but they ran him out and the GM too. Now it's their turn...
After the Ranger game (not mentioning Boston since they didn't show up), JIF has been placed on suicide watch... MCG, your tour of duty starts at midnight. Don, relieve him at 08:00. Diane... 16:00...
 Red sox are a mess..I mean a real mess. 2nd year out of last 3 that Ellsbury suffered a season ending injury in nthe first week of season. Crawford was a mistake..dice k out with tommy john minor leaguers at all 3 outfield positions. no catcher..youk 33 but playing like he is 53. Ownership did zero over the winter. Its the old story..they sell out the ball yard in December...so why spend money for players? Did I mention the pitching staff... Closer out for season...fill in closer just sent down to Pawtucket..Lester..Beckett Bucky are all junkmen. Is it football time yet?
 It's early. Teams like the Yanks, Sox and yes...even the Dodgers can go out and buy what they need before the trade deadline.
I watched the ceremony honoring the 100th anniversary of Fenway. It was magnificent and very enjoyable, even for a non-Red Sox fan. The parade of well over 200 former players onto the field from thee different directions was very impressive and emotional. Pedro, Nomar, Carl, Carlton, Tito....all plus others drew loud standing ovations from the packed house. The climax of the parade was the introduction of Bobby Doerr and Johnny Pesky. Following the ceremony, the Sox and Yanks took the field in uniforms from 100 years ago with no numbers. A great day for baseball!
I heard on the odgers game Steve Lyons wa talking about why he couldnt go but that the Red Soxs paid for over 900 player airfare and hotel rooms to get as many former players there as possible, wow I would have loved to been in the stands for that one I am sure Mr joco would to See the Left side of the country can appreciate the right every once in a while..

Speaking of historic... My Dodgers only have two real hitters, but they're doing some amazing thiings. They've tied the record for the most RBIs in the first eleven games: Kemp/Ethier 36 RBI 2012 Dodgers Gehrig/ Meusel 36 RBI 1927 Yankees Gehrig/Ruth 34 RBI 1932 Yankees Going into today's game, they were tied for 2nd place after 14 games: Kemp/Ethier 39 RBI 2012 Dodgers Williams/Stephens 1949 Red Sox Other notes: - Every time I run into Gehrig's name in the record book my jaw drops. How in the world could a guy who batted BEHIND Ruth get all those RBIs? Yes Ruth got a lot of walks, but he also struck out a lot and he cleaned the bases the way my dog cleans his food bowl... - Kemp is now batting .481 after 54 at-bats, with an on-base percentage of .525 and a slugging percentage of 1.000. He was the best player in the National League last year and now, at age 27, he's getting scary. He used to have one weakness. Pitchers would get him to chase sliders away in the dirt and he would ground out trying pull low fastballs that were away. Now he lays off the down-and-out sliders and he goes with the outside fastballs all the way to the rightfield seats. In fact, ALL of his 8 HRs have been opposite field shots. As Nomar said in his analysis, "Nobody knows what to do with Kemp now; they had better just walk him..."
Yankees help Sox start the second hundred years.... with a bang. Make that five bangs! I hope Bobby V. is renting...... 8)
Hey break up the Rangers. After hanging 10 on the Tigers Thrus. they punched out Rick Porcello today for 8 runs IN THE FIRST INNING!!! If Verlander can't hold them tonight, who can?
- Perfect Game: Phil Humber of the White Sox has pitched the 21st perfect game in MLB history. http://www.boston.com/sports/baseball/articles/2012/04/22/white_soxs_humber_tosses_perfect_game/ This can be quite rare. The National League once went 84 years without a single perfect game until Hall-of-Famer/U.S. Senator/father of nine, Jim Bunning tossed one on Fathers Day 1964. Here is the list of all-time perfect games: http://mlb.mlb.com/mlb/history/rare_feats/index.jsp?feature=perfect_game - Kemp watch: Matt Kemp finally hit a HR that didn't go the opposite way. The Stros young pitcher left a slider over the middle of the plate that the Dodgers centerfielder lifted it into the upper deck where Norman's mother lives in straight-away centerfield at Houston. The annoying Dodger broadcasters who replace El Supremo on road games practically swallowed their microphones as they followed the vapor trail left by the ball. They called it "Titanic!" and a "howitzer shot" and "The longest home run in the history of planet earth!" They both need an enema. I've seen longer HRs, but it really was a great one. - Pujols Watch: No HRs yet for Pujols who only cost the Angels a piddling $250 million. The natives are getting restless in Orange County...
