...that the wealthy elite all live in the south...,, 8) http://www.cnn.com/2012/03/13/politics/primaries/index.html
I saw this on Bill Maher the other night while channel surfing. I usually don't pause there long before I am tempted to throw something at the TV. Watch this video. Pay attention to the start where Mr. Maher claims that there was no cherry picking...his videographer got off the plane and sampled the "real Americans in the South." And everybody else they interviewed and didn' show were "just like these people."....and they are not trying to make fun of anybody...just make a point about what the people of Mississippi are like. Are you kidding me? This is the best they could do? This is the way these elitists think of southerners, conservatives, and the poor in general. Asshole. <iframe width="560" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/HW6F_eeeumU" frameborder="0"></iframe>
Seriously he could say that they didn't cherry pick, it's just random Miss people, with a straight face?
Listen......I grew up in the south......am from many generations of dyed in the wool southerners and my mother's side of the family were all from Mayo, Fl.......about as countrified as you can get. I have formed my opinions from first hand lifelong experiences. Most of the voting base down here that is ultra conservative just due to sheer numbers alone is more Mayo than Miami or Atlanta. Can there be gentrified....educated...and yes wealthy crackers who vote with intelligence and knowledge? Hell yes. But from what I can see that is not the millions that it takes for the GOP to have a true voting base down here that would put the conservative Santorum in ahead of the more moderate Romney. ...and this is the first I have heard of that Maher report mentioned above. But while I also doubt it's degree of "broad based research" I understand why the report was developed.
I do think it's interesting that he said they were going to do a similar report going to the inner city where the base is democratic...bet it turns out presenting those people in a better light.
Shouldn't......let's get real. It's not the cast of How I Met Your Your Mother in the inner city but rather the cast of "Good Times".
Ya think?????? Tell me who's elitist here and the lefties complain about Limbaugh? Maher is just classless and the biggest reason that I just scoff when some lefty goes off on Limbaugh.....
How do you respond to something like this, did they land a cessna in the most remote area of the state?? Was the one guys house a garbage dump??? The "random" people interviewed were a sad representation of an American citizen much less people from the south. For some reason humans take pride in thinking they are smarter, better looking, more qualified etc,etc... Both political parties excel at this along with whatever talking view points (Maher in this instance) are being represented by their commentary. It just feeds the human desire of arrogance or superiority... The whole thing is pretty disgusting and a testimony of what feeds the us these days...
