What motivated him to say it was that she is a 30 year old law activist paying $50,000 a year to attend this school for the purposes of raising this issue so that you, I and everybody else will provide her birth control so that she continue her unmarried, recreational sex hobby without consequences when she could go down to the corner drug store and get a prescription for $9 a month.....that is his motivation. The notion that the response of a radio talk show host , no matter how foolish, is getting more attention than the policy implications of this administration is another signal that armageddon is upon us.....
Give me a break... "Had it comin' to her" defense???? Hell, there is no defense for letting your guard down like he did and playing right into their hands. This worked out better for her and her supporters than they could ever have hoped. They didn't find her because she was some poor little college student unable to afford her contraception...she is a hard core published liberal activist pushing hard for an agenda...so spare me the stuff about her not being a "national political figure"...she wanted to make herself one and if nothing else owes Rush for helping her achieve that goal. (Despite the fact there is no excuse for that kind of namecalling...from Maher, Limbaugh, you, me, or anyone else.)
....boy you said it....and how. Stu, I guess Linda Tripp with the support of "they" made a national name for herself too. I haven't seen where Rush is using an attack on "they" as his excuse. He may be saying that today after it has all been pointed out to him but really.....who is "they"? And did "they" know that Rush would make such asinine comments on his public show about "her" that "they" would be able to seize such a momentus opportunity???? Man.....these guys....er "they".....are unbelievably shrewd and manipulative. Mr. Limbaugh.....you just met your match my friend. "They" one-upped your stupid ass.
there are a lot of urgent issues facing this country. The fraudulent Fluke and the crass Limbaugh are not among them.
I agree George except that I do not ever recall the GOP base being as full of anger rhetoric......"f@@K the other side and their sickening liberal beliefs" type of philosophy.......etc. etc. etc. until Limbaugh and his putrid act came along. You can say that when Bill Clinton defeated their lovable Sr. Bush that that's the root cause of the outward disdain......but Rush came along at that time too.....or at least began a name for himself with his "hate" act at that time in the early 90s.
Why would his daughter have to be an activist? We saw how nasty liberals can be when Letterman went after Palin's 15 yr. old daughter And this "right wing full of hate" is just what I'd expect from someone who apparently never watches MSNBC with vipers like Oberman. I recall liberals laughing at Whoopie Goldberg saying that she hoped Limbaugh got liver cancer. It's incredible that the side that lables opponents "teabaggers" whines about the "hate" on the other side.
There are far more examples of hateful rhetoric from the left...particularly the media folk... than you will ever be able to come up with from the right. Linda Tripp???what the hell are you talking about?
The left cornered the market on hate speech a long time ago. Black v white. Rich v. poor. Labor v management. Under this president you can add Muslim v. Christian and Illegals v. legals. For every Limbaugh there are many libs who are far more hateful and spiteful and who foster a sense of division and entitlement in every word they utter.
Huh? And who said......."let them die".......in Florida in a GOP debate that was held here. Man....you'll never convince me that the most angry......hateful party of NO MF....I SAID NO.....is the party on the left.
You'll never have any credibility on this issue when you so blindly ignore the disgusting venom and vitriol coming from the left, Maher, Olberman, Ed Shultz, the entertainment community, et al and then attack every sound bite coming from a radio talk show host......and then somehow conclude that the right has cornered the market on hate speech. It's absurd.....now that Maher has donated $1 million to the Obama campaign are we to assume that the President somehow endorses Maher tactics?
At least some in the media have stood up and told it like it is http://news.investors.com/Article.aspx?id=603233&ibdbot=1
So one guy in the audience says "yeah" to the let him die challenge, and the left wing media immediately make that the symbol of what they think we stand for...and you, willingly go right along and throw that in our faces. Whatever. He is trying to say that there are other answers than Big Daddy Gov't coming up with huge programs to cover everybody under one huge expensive mandatory umbrella. People have always behaved irresponsibly and for the most part our society has tried to care for them. But the big government programs, IMHO, just foster more irresponsibility, more expense, and less personal responsibility. I dunno...maybe that's the difference between our philosophies...I hope not.
Backlashes come in all shapes and sizes. It will be interesting to see how this plays out over time. http://dailycaller.com/2012/03/06/investors-flee-carbonite-after-limbaugh-announcement/
Of course the stock market in general took a huge hit yesterday. One backlash I expect is that the RNC/GOP will be shadowing Miss Fluke like a fly stuck on glue trying to dig up anything to discredit her character. Just a hunch......
If you read the article then you know that its drop in price exceeded gthe market drop in percentage. Could be a coincidence. I doubt if the RNC/GOP will waste as much time on this girl as you have. What do we know? That she is 30 not 23. That she picked Georgetown expressly because of their student HI and the fact that it did not cover contraceptives and she viewed this a "big stage: for her real purpose, women's contraceptive rights. We know that she is as a President of some activist group and was before she enrolled at GU. We know that she also wants the taxpayers to cover "Chazz Bono" transgender procedures. I think we can safely assume that this whole fiasco was orchestrated by the DNC to attempt to take everyone's off the real issues ( it worked with you ). I believe her shelf life has expired and her usefulness as a prop to the re-election campaign has passed.
My sister is getting unsolicited e-mails from moveon.org urging her to sign a petition to Clear Channel to have Limbaugh removed. She does not subscribe to that left wing outfit and has no idea how they got her e-mail. She asked to have her address removed but they continue to send her e-mails. Any lingering doubts that this whole charade is orchestrated?
George, one of my sisters is a moveon.org subscriber. She occasionally forwards their emails to family members. They are off-the-charts radical and hateful. I just delete them. I don't care to disrupt the family dynamics so I remain silent and never participate in my siblings' political discussions. My moderate position on issues seems in comparison to their views to be ultra conservative.
It's all relative isn't Sid....? I think the thing that concerns me the most about our admittedly left leaning current administration is that they are going to great lengths to convince people that the views and philosophies of our Founding Fathers are/were right wing radical! No, no they are not....they were the views that crafted the greatest political document ever written and built the most productive society the world has ever known......the further we stray from their wisdom, the more we jeopardize the future standing of this great country for generations to come, imho.
Here we go again!!! If for instance a regular citizen would make a stand against a liberal politician what do you think would happen. Why the liberal media hanchmen would be all over the place trying to discredit that individual. Doubt it??? OK here's a perfect example http://www.upi.com/Top_News/2008/10/16/Joe-the-Plumber-not-licensed-registered/UPI-30311224192677/ But Joe might get the last laugh. You dont' have to be licensed to run for congress http://www.csmonitor.com/USA/Elections/From-the-Wires/2012/0307/Joe-the-Plumber-wins-Ohio-primary-faces-tough-race-in-November
I have had some things going on and haven't been here in a couple of days. But I have been reading about Ms Fluke and was going to post that article Stu posted. I have to say that I agree with about everything here except what the other Gator fan says, which is mostly beyond the pale. I will concede Rush blew it, however I don't think this woman is coming out well herself. By what convoluted logic MCG can see this woman in a different light that Palin/Bachmann or Laura Ingrahram is beyond me. Fluke is a hard core 30 year old activist who has an agenda and is attending Georgetown to further that agenda. She thrust herself on the national stage and is no different that any other politician or activist out there in the public arena taking controversial stands. I guess I should be shocked at MCG's convoluted logic, but unfortunately it seems to go so much with the liberal mindset.
