Not sure what to expect from the Astros, not the same team as the '17 and '22 WS Champions. Lost opener to the Angels 3-0

There are only 3 teams above .500 in the AL. The A's, Yankee's and the Rays....is this parity?

Why are outfield walls not padded? This is a pretty hard knock for the player, if they had padded the wall it would have been easier on his body for sure.

Not much you can say bt WOW.

Milwaukee's Jacob Misiorowski set a standard for velocity by a starting pitcher while keeping up his habit of performing best in high-profile situations.

Misiorowski threw 10 pitches of at least 103 mph while striking out 11 over six dominant innings in the Brewers' 6-0 home victory over the New York Yankees on Friday night. He had three pitches of 103.6 mph, the highest velocity any starter has reached since Statcast tracking began in 2008.

Aw, c'mon...what's the big deal about sacrificing players' health and well being when compared to the chance to sell sh@t on a message board?

White Sox woman held her engagement party at the stadium today and celebrated by trash talking PCA after he crashed into the wall but failed to make a catch. Her boyfriend has a keeper!

I'd dump her on the spot. Living my life with a White Sox fan is one thing. Living with someone who would trash talk a player who just sold out at the risk of injury is quite another. Evil woman.

I have not really followed baseball much this season. The few games I have watched I was impressed with the acciracy of the robo ball/strike system.

Not sure it's impacted wins / losses though. Sid and AJ probably watch way more than I have I would be curious as to their take so far.

I've seen parts of enough MLB games to have seen several challenges. I like the system. It works quickly and efficiently, unlike other kinds of revues. You know the result in seconds. I have yet to see an ump or player upset or a call blatantly wrong, although I've read that there have been some, one of which was called strike 3" outside the zone. That's a lot, but play resumed with no argument. The calls I've seen have been marginally wrong or correct usually in the lower part of the zone. No one pouts or protests. Whatever the result, play is resumed immediately. I've talked to other baseball fans, including my 2 brothers, one of whom is way more old school than I. Everyone likes it.

I don't think we'll see it in HS or college ball any time soon because of the cost of setting it up and the unsuitability of some (most?) college and HS facilities for mounting and progamming a remote camera in exactly the correct position.

They are using it in the SEC tourney.
The zone is considerably larger than the MLB zone. Probably to try to lessen the egregious suck of SEC umps this year.

Are they playing in Atlanta? If so, it’s already set up so why not use it. Cool!

It’s played in Hoover, Alabama. Just outside of Birmingham.

    From Google:
The Birmingham Barons—the Double-A affiliate of the Chicago White Sox—previously played in Hoover at the Hoover Met Stadium from 1988 until 2012. However, ahead of the 2013 season, the team relocated to the newly built Regions Field in downtown Birmingham. While there are no full-time minor league franchises currently based in Hoover, the Hoover Metropolitan Stadium remains active. It regularly hosts collegiate tournaments, such as the SEC Baseball Tournament, and occasional independent or collegiate summer league events.

So it's structured to accommodate ABS. Excellent. Like I said previously, unless there were exceptions for the larger college stadiums with the structure that allows the installation of the necessary equipment, it probably won't become universal. I'd love to be wrong.

I wonder if it'll be used in the NCAA tournament sites and/or in Omaha?

    Sid, thanks for that info!
I'm sure they will eventually try to use it as much as possible in the NCAA, but you are correct that the set up of the fields will be the limiting factor.
I'd assume the stadium in Omaha would be able to accommodate ABS for sure.
