The women have been up and down as well. We do not have enough gifted personnel to last very long, especially when it comes to rebounding and defense.
Impressive, I don't care what conference they are playing in...According to this they are only the 3rd team to do it. Wichita State in 2013-14 did it and lost to Kentucky in the 2nd round of the NCAA tournament. Kentucky in 2014-15 went 38-0 and lost in the Finals to Wisconsin. So history isn't kind to undefeated teams! Miami (Ohio) finished the regular season as the only unbeaten team in Division I men's basketball thanks to Eian Elmer scoring a career-high 32 points and grabbing 12 rebounds in a gritty 110-108 overtime victory over Ohio on Friday night. Peter Suder scored five of his 13 points in overtime for Miami (31-0, 18-0 MAC), which is the third team in Division I history to enter a conference tournament 31-0, joining 2013-14 Wichita State and 2014-15 Kentucky, according to ESPN Research.
Somehow this team always seems to win at the last moment and last night was no exception. They deserve to be in the field, regardless of their weak schedule. They had a difficult time just scheduling games as no one wanted to play them and lose.
Ohio State faces Indiana at 5:30 this afternoon here in Columbus. We always seem to have a difficult time beating the Hoosiers. Hopefully this game will prove to be different. We might still be in the field, even with a loss today, but I am not very confident if that occurs.
Buckeye ladies gave UCLA a good game but couldn't overcome all that talent and height that UCLA has esp Lauren Betts and Kiki Rice. Final 72-62
Buckeyes win over Indiana in final game of the season 91-78. Looks like we are in the upcoming NCAA tournament. Bruce Thornton is now the new leader with points scored. He has started every game in his four years and has served as capatin for each of those years, another first.
It certainly isn't often that I post in support of a team other than ND, but you gotta like this humble guy and what he's accomplished with Ohio State:
Yikes, UCLA just ran Iowa out of the gym today and completed an undefeated run through the Big 10. Duke and Louisville played another game like Duke and ND and had to go to OT, Duke wins in OT. Texas is currently handling South Carolina and up by 17 points in the 3rd. I wonder if Vic will complain about how the SEC hates his team!
I stand corrected, Vic apparently complained about the tournament being in Greenville which is right in the backyard of the Gamecocks and thus it's like a home crowd for them.
Longhorns win the SEC, got off to the big lead right away and the Gamecocks were never able to over come that, they never got closer than 11 points and lost by 17. With this win the Longhorns no doubt will get a #1 seed along with UCONN and UCLA, not sure who will be the 4th 1 seed. Last one up is the B12 with TCU and traitor Olivia Miles rolleyes and West Virginia.
West Virginia pulls the upset in the B12 and takes down TCU. This win gets them hosting for the 1st and 2nd round.
Where have I been? I didn't know Olivia Miles , a) had remaining eligibility, and b) was playing with another program.
Yeah she had a red shirt year from 2 years ago when she missed a season from injury. It was a big shock when she announced she was in the portal. Lots of speculation but nobody really knows what triggered the move. She did get 2 ND degrees though on her way out the door.
26-5...Tied with '91 team...but can this team get past the first round?...that's the tiebreaker right there. That's actually sad now that I think about it.
Can't take away what happened in the regular season, but I get it having a good season and then losing in the first round leaves a bad taste.
I'm a big fan and very happy with how he rallied his team to finish and likely punch their ticket to the dance. Big hurdle for him and the program, he's got them heading in the right direction
Looks like Duke has some injury issues going into the ACC Tournament. It's always about 2 things, playing your best ball this time of the year and avoiding critical injuries. If the 2 guys rest up this week and are ready to play next weekend, maybe they are the same team, if not then they are not the same team.
