Portal will be closing soon for the teams that played in the CFP final. But not the drama.

We are in the staff changes drama right now, with assistans coming and going and I believe that triggers a opening for those players to hit the portal.

Not to mention the contentious cases like Miami tampering with the Duke QB and Ole Miss tampering with the Clemson DL. Not to mention a few players suing the NCAA to get a 6th or 7th year to play.

I did see the Buckeyes made an interesting move in hiring Arthur Smith to be the OC now that Hartline has gone to USF. I don't think of Smith as fitting with the offense the Buckeyes have run under Day, but he'll certainly have a trio of talented players in Sayin, Bo Jackson, and Pro Bowler WR Smith.

Schedules are being released for this fall. ND released their last week, the ACC will release theirs tonight. B12 has already released it's schedule.

Early entry players are on campus and attending class getting ready for Spring Drills.

I have no confidence in any meaningful NCAA rule being enforced.

His offense with the Steelers was the most boring in the NFL. This hiring is puzzling.

Well here we go. another reason this NIL and Transfer portal are destroying college football:in January 2026, Duke initiated legal action to stop QB Darian Mensah from leaving for Miami, claiming his transfer violates an existing multi-year NIL contract.

Duke settled with Mensah and he's likely going to end up at Miami.

Rutgers Athletic Dept ran a deficit of over 70M dollars. Hard to believe given how much money each Big 10 team receives from the conference.

    From the linked article

“Regardless how we slice this thing, it’s got to get better,” Zinn said.

That sentiment remains true, with Rutgers’ latest athletics financial report showing its deficit topped $70 million for the third time in five years in 2024-25 after the state university spent a record $193.8 million, documents show.

Rutgers athletics hits record $78 million deficit. New AD says ‘It’s got to get better.’

In my view Day is one of the great offensive minds in the game and I trust him implicitly when it comes to who he thinks will be the best fit for him on his offensive staff. The guy is not gonna be installing a new offense but my guess is rather tweaking at the margins of Day's system and Coach must have liked his ideas. I know the guy had a decent run as OC with the Titans tho no doubt having Derrick Henry in the backfield is always a plus. Day got alot of criticism for the Patricia hire too so I'm hoping this one works out kinda like that one.....the guy will still have plenty of weapons even with the portal departures, if he can shore up the OL they could be decent unit
