I couldn't watch ND/UCONN as I just knew iit was going to be a Christians vs Lions game. And that's what the box score said, a complete beat down by UCONN. This team is just not a good team right now and they are going to struggle to keep their heads above water the rest of the season.
Men's basketball traveled to UNC and got soundly beaten. Both the men's and womne's teams are just not very good this year. I don't expect either will make the NCAA's.
Irish women get a hard fought home win over Miami. Hildalgo had her type of game 27 points and 10 steals. The only thing she can't do at a high level is shoot 3's. She's 20% at best. If she could shoot threes oh my .
Tim it seems like there has always been some position we struggled to recruit. I can remember when we couldn't re recruit DBs. We've struggled to recruit WR and QB . CJ Carr was our first in awhile.
Not that anybody cares, but ND Hockey seems to have hit rock bottom. They are 0-13 in Big 10 play and while I don't know of course, but is there a win left on the schedule? It doesn't seem that long ago that we were a pretty good program. Now we are the bottom of the league.
Weather permitting, Irish basketball host's Boston College tonight and the women host Clemson on Sunday. Polar Vortex likely to keep the crowd pretty small.
Irish men got a hard fought win over BC. They were down 13 at the half and finally got hot in the 2nd half with defense and shots began to fall. It got more than a little chippy at the end, with Tout flopping like a Dookie to get a T and we had a 4 point turnaround. BC like us is a mediocre team sp while it's great to get the win but I'm not sure what it means in the overall scheme of the season.
Didn't watch but the Irish women lost today at home to Clemson. From what I read most if not all the fans feel like the effort wasn't there for them to win. Lots of criticism of Coach. Hannah was Hannah though, she had a 30 point effort with 8 steals, but it wasn't enough. The team suffers from a lack of interior defense and from poor 3 point shooting. We have some nice players but beyond Hannah none that show up consistently every night. In Hockey, I guess the team read my post about how bad they were and finally got a win, 6-1 over the Buckeyes.
Not a surprise, he's excellent and had developed talent. If he want's to move up it means he's got to move on, he's been rumoured to be leaving for several years now so it was inevitable. Our Special Teams coach, Biagi, is rumoured to be sought by Ryan Day at OSU.
I see that Mark Zachery has cut his basketball career short after only a few games. He's decided that he needs to focus 100% on football. Good move on his part. He was going to be a end of the bench basketball player and maybe get 4 minutes a game.
Irish lacrosse should be good again, already have played Utah and Air Force in exhibition wins, open the season at Marquette on Valentines Day.
