Time to put to bed tho old 2025 topic and move on to 2026. Irish football is rapidly filling up their needs in the Portal including this pickup from Purdue. ; Notre Dame and Marty Biagi have landed a kicker in a Houdini fashion. bsp; Purdue kicker Spencer Porath has signed with the Irish and he never entered the NCAA Transfer Portal. l. The Brownsburg (Ind.) native made 15-of-17 field goals in 2025 and all 24 extra points as a sophomore in 2025. 88.2% is the best single season field goal percentage in history of Purdue football. Porath had a long of 53 yards and was 4-of-5 from 40-49 yards and 2-of-3 from 50+. bsp;
This would be a great pickup. Oregon’s Tionne Gray, a St. Louis native who stands at 6-6, 336 pounds, officially entered the transfer portal last night, and Rivals’ Steve Wiltfong has already reported that the rising redshirt sophomore will visit Notre Dame on Thursday. One industry source feels that Gray was leaning toward picking the Tigers as the close-to-home option, but our sources believe that Notre Dame is the team to beat for Gray. There seems to be a lot of confidence in South Bend that the Irish will get this one done, but only time will tell. Gray has “very high interest” in the Irish according to a source close to the player. “They did great with a lot of St. Louis kids and have a strong tradition,” Gray told Wiltfong about Notre Dame. “I just wanna get on campus to get a feel for it.”
Terry, in your post about the kicker, what does "bsp" mean? Also, I'm confused about the statement that he never entered to portal.
1. no clue about the bsp, I assume it's something to do with the editor that was used to write the article. 2. Also no clue how we ended up with a kid who had not yet entered the Portal. I have to assume that his "agent' did some skulking around and when he found some interest that interested his client he passed on the information and the kid then hit the transfer button. Some might call it tampering, in fact that's what I would call it and it's apparently very common with the Portal these days.
Per 247, ND currently has the overall #2 recruiting class this year (high school recruits + transfers) Top 5, in order: - Texas - Notre Dame [ND has a higher average rating per player, but Texas has more players] [ND has a higher blue chip ratio than all the other schools in the top 5] - OSU - USC - Texas A&M ND signed four 5-star recruits during this period, the most in the country (tied with several other schools) Fwiw: Texas Tech is currently ranked #13 Indiana #23
I don't know for a fact, but I'm guessing that's IU's highest recruiting ranking ever. Re: ND: to me the #2 ranking proves we're more attractive to the top level recruits than we've been for many years. That's great news. Kudos to the staff. Do I assume correctly that two of the 4 5* recruits are the two TOSU transfer WRs?
I got a nice call the other night from a Notre Dame sophomore, Samantha, who is majoring in Neuroscience thanking me for me gift to ND. They call me every year and they hang on and just talk to me about what going on for them and it's a really nice conversation. Do you guys get those phone calls?
