Another solid season and 2nd straight bowl victory over an SEC team for Illinois. Beilema has done has excellent job in rebuilding a program that was a B10 doormat.
Kelly’s career arc is a strange one. NFL head coach, Oregon head coach, NFL offensive coordinator, Ohio State offensive coordinator and now Northwestern OC?
Hey Fellas, 1. I really like the Whittingham hire for the Wolverines. The culture is definitely in need of a change and maybe Whittingham will bring back stability and honor to a once well respected football blue blood program. Chip Kelly to NW tells me that Ohio State has bigger plans or they realized his system wasn’t the best long term solution.
I think as long as Ohio State doesn’t get in their own head and they’re focused they win 27-10. Miami’s offense doesn’t worry me honestly. Their defense is pretty solid but I also think the guys are fired up after the B1G loss. The Indiana Alabama game is very intriguing to me. I honestly don’t know who to pick. Part of me would love to see the B1G represented well but we all know Alabama is Alabama. The game depends on how well Indiana’s defense plays.
Considering his obstinate game plan against Michigan in 2024, my guess is that OSU fans would not want a reunion with Kelly. Agree that Whittingham is the right medicine to detoxify M’s football program.
After hearing Day discuss the benefit of "continuity" at the coordinator positions I think an important element he's looking for is a multi-year commitment from his next OC. Perhaps Kelly was unwilling to give one and looks to get back to the NFL. Who knows but he's on a good trend in his coordinator selections, I'm confident he's gonna find a good one
Yep, I am - was - a huge fan of Whittingham. Pisses me off to no end that M pulled a horsehoe out their a$$ and got a helluva football coach and a really good guy
Once again, if Alabama can eliminate turnovers and protect Simpson they have a chance. I have conceded that Alabama lacks a running game, and that obviously makes them one-dimensional. The Alabama defense is very good but it is prone to giving up big plays. One thing for sure is we can't spot Indiana 17 points and expect to win. If I was the Indiana DC, I would sell out on pressuring the quarterback.
That's pretty much where I'm at too..... Miami O is gonna struggle to put points on the board. Hopefully we can keep the Miami defensive front off of Sayin enough for him to be able to make some plays down the field. Beck will be pressured as well and typically does not perform well under duress. We should handle the Miami run game and I'm looking for a few short fields virtue of "Bad Beck" under pressure. I like the good guys 20-6
KP we struggled to protect Sayin against IU. They play alot of games stunting and twisting up front and we didn't communicate well along the OL picking up the games. Up until the IU game, we had given up 6 sacks in the first 12 games. We gave up 5 to IU in that game alone. They are very solid upfront and we obviously didn't handle it well and was one of the keys to our loss.
I usually try to be pro B1G for bowl season but I can’t stand Lincoln Riley. He’s overrated and stagnant so I was happy to se Son y and the boys get the win!
