    Great game going on right now between Arizona and Alabama.

    Also, hey AJ you are good at Volleyball. Watched the Huskers beat up on poor KU the other night. Next up is the Aggies, but the real contest to see if you are any good will be when you have to face the Longhorns!!:cool::cool:

    Good game for the first half, then not so good.

    Shouldn't have said that Terry, the Aggies have taken the #1 slot in KC!
    And... They've already beaten the horns once.

    In beating Marquette, Purdue's Braden Smith becomes only the second Div I player to ever achieve over 1500 points, 850 assists, and 500 rebounds. First was D.J. Cooper of Ohio University.

    It is impressive, for some reason I would have thought Rick Mount would be the guy who also did that.

    Couldn't help but laugh at that one TOK, Mount's next assist will be his first.....had a great jumper and was a great scorer but playing defense and passing the ball he treated with equal disdain ;)

    I’m impressed BT. You just described RM exactly. Love “His next assist will be his first.” :D He couldn’t make it in the pros because he couldn’t play defense.

    I remember him very well, saw him a time or two -v- my Buckeyes. We had a player very similar to Mount tho perhaps not as renowned at about the same time, Allen Hornyak aka the "Bellaire Bomber". Great scorer, great jump shot with zero hesitancy to launch regardless of range or the possiblilty of an open teammate at the rim. Similar defensive skills and hence never played in the NBA or ABA tho drafted in both

    Ohio State 4th year starting guard is on a roll per CBS sports.
    Ohio State's Thornton on a heater
    The 50-40-90 club is hallowed ground for ethical hoopers. So far this season, Ohio State senior guard Bruce Thornton is shooting 59% from the field, 49% from 3-point land and 86% from the charity stripe. He's just two (!) free throws away from being in the 50-40-90 club.

    But the 3-point version of the 50/40 club is an even tougher benchmark. Of course, Thornton is one of just two card-carrying members. Thornton is shooting a bonkers 53% on 28 catch-and-shoot treys and a ludicrous 44% on 25 pull-up treys, per Synergy. Virginia's Jacari White is the only other player in the nation to be over 50% on catch-and-shoot 3-pointers and 40% on pull-up 3-pointers (minimum 10 attempts a piece).

    It's not hyperbole to call Thornton's start to 2025-26 one of the best pure shooting displays that we've seen in recent memory. Last week was Thornton's masterpiece. He poured in 34 points on just 17 shots against Illinois and followed it up with 23 points, including the game-winner, in a double-overtime victory over West Virginia. Ohio State played 90 minutes of basketball last week. Thornton was on the floor for all but 52 seconds.

    FYI...per Wikipedia;
    Mount was among the top of the league in three-point shooting during the time he spent in the ABA, while averaging 11.8 points a game and a career total of 3,330 points. Known mainly for his scoring abilities in high school and college, Mount contributed in a greater variety of ways during his pro career. As one of the finest passers in the league, he averaged 2.4 assists, tallying a total of 676. He was also a fine free throw shooter with 82 percent accuracy. Rick shot 31.7 percent beyond the arc and held a 43.3 field goal percentage in his five seasons in the ABA

    Imagine how the three-point arc in college would have impacted the college stats of players Mount and Pete Maravich. I'm not surprised at Mount's ABA career stats, primarily with the Pacers. He was a scoring machine. I recall - subject to correction by someone with a better memory - that his on-court time wasn't what it could have been if he had played better defense.
