There appears to be an answer to Terry’s earlier question regarding why the employee turned on Sherrone. Supposedly, she was fired by him on the 8th and then brought the receipts to Michigan’s HR department on the 10th.

Bobda, I've read that the AD is very much on the hotseat.

Another major job open but not for long...

Utah's Kyle Whittingham, the winningest coach in program history and one of the longest-tenured coaches in the FBS, will step down following the Utes' appearance in the Las Vegas Bowl on Dec. 31, the school announced Friday.

Whittingham, who has been with the program since 1994, was named head coach in December 2004 and amassed 177 wins, which ranks third among active FBS coaches.

Whittingham is expected to be succeeded by defensive coordinator Morgan Scalley, who Harlan announced as the head coach in waiting on July 1, 2024. Scalley joined the Utah staff in 2008 and has been the defensive coordinator for 10 seasons.

Interesting but not surprising in the Social Media age. I've wondered about how the kids going into the portal know where they might go, it's been suggested that the higher end players have agents who do the scouting and "tampering" so they know where they are going and how much $$$ they will be making.

Also all these kids have instagram accounts, and teams/players who want to encourage a kid to hit the portal and transfer to their school follow those kids. That's a signal that they are wanted. For example if your need is WR's then your QB and the WR coach follow the targets.

Also I've heard that players who are doing well at a good school but aren't getting the $$$ that they want will hit the portal just to increase the $$$ that they'll earn at another school.

Rocco Spindler who was a highly rated recruit out of HS, and played quite a bit at ND, including a key role on the OL last year during the playoffs, chose to leave for 2 reasons. He was not guaranteed to be the starter on this years OL and Neb offered him 1.2M to come to Lincoln. He was not going to get even half that amount at ND as a backup.

    I hate this new reality.

I wonder if Skyler Bell is better than Carnell Tate. I doubt it.

Army v Navy in an hour. Go Navy. Blake Horvath is an excellent QB in the Navy system and I expect the Middies to win.

Army answered with a 13 play 75 yd drive to tie up the game at 7-7. 1st qtr featured 2 possessions. Both 13 plays. The Army QB is from a suburb of Houston

After the 1st drive by Navy they have been held in check by the Army defense and Army has put up 2 FG's and lead at the half by 13-7.

    Good game by both squads.

Already been a couple of G-League basketball players who were allowed to play college this year, I wondered if we'd see kids who left with eligibility come back to finish degree's and be allowed to play. This isn't exactly that, but we seem to be inching towards that.

In another milestone decision for collegiate hockey, the NCAA has granted eligibility to two players with experience in the AHL and ECHL. Forward Connor McClennon and defenseman Hudson Thornton will both suit up for the Bemidji State University Beavers, per Jared Rubado of The Bemidji Pioneer. This decision goes against the NCAA’s previous rule that stated any players who have signed pro contracts were ineligible from playing NCAA-sanctioned sports.

I see that ASU coach Kenny Dillingham is in negotiations for a new contract so cross him off the UM list.

Heck of a game, Horvath fumbled twice but they got both back and he threw 2 Int's...but the Navy prevailed 17-16. Anchors Away!

It was a little chippy after the last snap, nothing big but still the Army didn't like Navy celebrating right in their face.

Gary Danielson seid it was his last Army/Navy game. I didn't know he was retiring, or is it that the game is changing Networks?

Terry, I read several weeks ago in our local news that GD said he was retiring after this season.
