He's a Big 10 guy with success at a school with less resources than MSU so it should work out for them
The James Madison coach is reportedly headed to UCLA. I wonder if he'll bring the best players like Cignetti did when he went to IU?
BYU coach Kilani Sitake to Penn State? That would be a tragedy, he should be a BYU lifer. Kalani Sitake to Penn State? BYU coach addresses job rumors before Big 12 title game
Personally, I'm tired of the 24 hour ESPN drum beat that Miami deserves to go instead of ND. If we played them today, we'd beat the gold off their grills using their own chains to do it.
A&M drops to #7 Alabama jumps the Irish to #9 BYU and Miami in the no fly zone UVA and Tulane should they win this weekend are taking their place. If BYU upsets Texas Tech then the Irish are done, unless UGA walks all over Alabama and forces the committee to drop them back at least a slot.
Sitake is staying at BYU. Evidently wealthy LDS members donated enough money to increase his salary to entice him to stay in Provo. Plus, he is a devout Mormon and played and coached almost entirely in the Mountain West footprint so Penn State was fighting an uphill battle to start. Penn State fans are now in pitchfork and torch mode over their AD’s inability to hire a successor to Franklin.
Sitake just doesn't seem like a good cultural fit for PSU, for all the reasons that you stated. Penn State can get Brian Kelly probably for a song!!
CAL looking at this guy, who is an ACE recruiter. Cal is targeting Oregon defensive coordinator Tosh Lupoi to become its next football coach, with a process expected to lead to his hiring in the coming days, sources told ESPN.
I agree, Terry. I imagine you can count the number of Polynesian Mormons living in Central Pennsylvania with one hand.
My wife - a Nit alum distraught with the state of affairs - actually went online to determine how many LDS temples there were in PA. As it turns our, there are 2....one in Pittsburgh, one in Philly. Neither convenient to State College. There is one planned for Harrisburg, much closer to campus. She contemplated wiring a quick donation to help seal the deal
South Florida University to hire Brian Hartline as it's new football coach. It was bound to happen and South Florida sounds like a golden opportunity for Hartline to continue his football career as Head coach. He will remain with Ohio State through the playoffs per Coach Day. Ohio State OC Brian Hartline to take USF job: Buckeyes losing top recruiter
Word is that Collin Klein will leave A&M after the season to take over as HC for Kansas St when their head man retires.
It was inevitable, I'm happy for him, but it still sucks.....some big time recruits are re-thinking their commits with massive bags being presented them as a result. Saban always seemed to have talented assistants leave for HC jobs and managed to attract quality replacements, thus far Day seems to have that ability as well. Let's hope it continues and lets hope Chris Henry Jr comes to his senses!
BT, what does the wife and the rest of the PSU community feel ab0ut hiring the interim, Terry Smith, he's a lifer and I guess he even coached under JoePa.
Billy Napier to James Madison. He's following a couple of very successful coaches, hope it works out for him.
