In the Miami vs ND debate they are going say Miami beat Pitt worse than ND, but Miami kept their starters in the full game, the Irish went to backups in the 4th qtr.
Texas Tech destroyed WVU 49-0 and BYU got down 14 early to a bad UCF team and then turned on the jets and beat them handily 41-21. They play in the B12 Championship game. I'll be surprised if Tech doesn't beat them again. They handled them easily the first time around. That OU/LSU game was a defensive struggle a busted coverage was the difference as OU got a WR running free and Mateer hit him for the winning score. When will Kiffin announce his decision?
Penn State beating Rutgers makes them bowl eligible. Army beating UTSA is also bowl eligible. Next up Navy. Watching that "War Eagle' fly around the stadium and then land right on the Auburn Logo...how do they train that bird to do that!! Impressive. Air Force does the same with a Falcon.
Virginia and SMU up early in their games, if that continues Miami won't play in the ACC Championship game.
CAL fired Justin Wilcox and SMU needed to win tonight, so instead the interim coach has CAL up 17-7 over SMU. UVA is up 17-0 over Va.Tech and Duke has already won today so if SMU loses then it's UVA vs Duke for the ACC. I think both UVA and SMU have to lose for Miami to get to the ACC Championship game.
I’m going out on a limb here and say if Alabama wins tonight, we will not beat Georgia next week. Our whole offense has regressed.
I was yelling at thr TV to kick the field goal but the gamble paid off. I guess everyone has adopted Dan Campbell’s “4th and **** it” philosophy.
Yeah I would have taken the 3 too. However our kicker has missed a couple of chip shots in the last 2 games.
Great Iron Bowl game. Congrats KP. Simpson’s 1 yard first down scramble on Bama’s last TD drive may have saved Alabama’s playoff position although there are probably a half of dozen plays that one could say the same thing about. I wonder if Auburn will consider making Durkin a permanent head coach as he did a nice job taking over the program after Freese was fired.
I’m sure it was exciting for y’all, but Auburn just played a little bit worse than Alabama did. Actually, they beat us in all of the stats except the score. Simpson has regressed, our running game was better but not by much. If we play like we have the last few games, Georgia will beat us badly, but at least we beat Auburn.
Don't forget that UGA struggled against Ga.Tech. But it is hard to beat a team twice in the same year.
Georgia did not look like world beaters this week against a Tech team that was curb stomped the week before by a pedestrian Pitt team; Oklahoma squeaked by a mediocre LSU team and A&M was handled by Texas. If you look at the top 10 rated teams in the CFP, maybe OSU is a cut above the rest but the playoffs this year from 1-10 resembles a Kentucky Derby with a lot of good horses but no Secretariat. And the horse I root for is headed to the Citrus Bowl glue farm.
So if unranked Duke wins the ACC. Is it possible that James Madison (Sun Belt) and North Texas (AAC) will be ranked higher. The rule is the 5 highest ranked Conference Champions are automatically in the CFP, so would one of them take the ACC spot? Or is the ACC Champ guaranteed a slot no matter what their ranking?
