Arch did his best Riley Leonard impersonation and scores on a 35 yd run. Longhorns answer the Aggie score with a score and it's 27-17!
Sid, I have been watching the A&M game and was just catching up on the score. Was stunned at the score as I thought it would be a tighter game this year. Should have not added the scorched earth comment.
Good night Aggies. But, they are in the playoffs and Reed’s ankle gets some time to heal. The unbalanced schedules in the new power 4 mega conferences really hurts the competitive fairness of determining a conference champion.
Really it's a bit of a disadvantage to have to play the 13th game for the SEC, injuries, wear and tear and all that. A&M still in and get the extra rest now.
Great win for the Longhorns. Not enough to jump into the playoffs. There are already 5 SEC teams who are likely to be in and I don't think they will put 6 teams into the CFP.
That's OK, Bobda. No apology necessary. In hindsight, I can see that my comment may have come across stronger than it was meant to be. If you saw the name Hernandez on on the last couple of TDs, that's what could have given you the impression that IU was running up the score. His "little" brother Alberto, the 6'2" redshirt freshman QB, is second string and good enough the be the starter next year. He engineered the last 2 TDs with the 2nd string offense.
Of course they ran up the score. If they had any class they would have gone into the victory formation the entire second half, punted, then repeated. Maybe some quick kicks or deliberately throwing interceptions. Or attempting 75 yard field goals. Or tied their shoelaces together. I dunno. PS Congrats, Sid.
Congrats Terry. I didn't watch, but the fact that you won the 2nd half must mean they are doing something right in Austin, as no one else has been close to the Aggies then. Silver lining, this might work out better... since they can rest up for a play off run.
Texas/Sark lobbying for the Longhorns to jump all the way up into the College Football Playoffs. Harks back to Mack Brown in 2004. The phrase refers to Mack Brown's public lobbying efforts to secure an at-large bid for the Texas Longhorns in the 2004 Bowl Championship Series (BCS) Rose Bowl, which was highly controversial at the time. He publicly pleaded with voters to help his team leapfrog California in the final standings, a move that worked and led to the bid, but was criticized as "classless" by some, particularly fans of the Golden Bears, who felt they were wronged. The bid: Texas, ranked fifth in the BCS standings, needed to move ahead of California to earn an automatic BCS bowl bid after the final computer rankings were released. The lobbying: Brown made public appeals to voters in the Associated Press and coaches polls for help. The outcome: Texas ultimately secured the Rose Bowl bid after leapfrogging California, which many saw as a direct result of Brown's public pressure campaign. The controversy: Critics labeled the move "classless," especially since it appeared to come at the expense of a 11-1 California team that had a close loss to the top-ranked USC. The incident became a source of lingering bitterness for some California fans.
It’s still single elimination for Alabama. We are about to enter the twilight zone called Jordan Hare. If we win, we play Georgia (again) in the SECCG. If we lose, our chances of playing in the CFP are gone and I have to endure a year of Auburn’s inferiority complex.
