My trip to Purdue https://www.vsbnradio.com/post/expe...purdue-university-a-weekend-in-west-lafayette
Wow, Michigan State just got slammed by the NCAA. They should have just created an elaborate scheme to cheat their way to a National Championship. Then all they would have to do is not have their head coach for a couple of games.
Didn't see this coming. I of course knew about Tuckers problems, but was totally unaware of the ineligible players issue. Some pretty significant financial penalties. The vacating wins. meh.
Stu did you eat at the XXX Diner? If some suggested eating at the XXX Diner, I might have thought porn was involved.
Michigan’s penalties also included a 30M dollar fine and 4 years of probation and a long list of show cause punishments compared to MSU’s 30k fine. Plus, the Stallions story broke and he was gone weeks before the end of season victories in 2023 against PSU and OSU along with the playoff victories over Alabama and Washington. I assume all those teams changed their signals after the Stallions story broke so I am not sure how his actions would have impacted the scores of those games. But, for MSU to be forced to vacate wins while M did not certainly does not fit within my definition of a just punishment for improper conduct.
And just to be clear. I agree Michigan’s punishment by the NCAA was far lighter than warranted. The point I was trying to make in my last post was that I believe our 2023 end of season and playoff victories were earned on a level playing field. But, I would not have had an argument if the NCAA had vacated all wins from 21-23 due to Stallions actions.
Here is the UCLA OSU preview gentlemen! Enjoy the games you’re watching this weekend. Good luck to all your teams. Going to be a nice night in ‘The Shoe for some prime time football! https://www.vsbnradio.com/post/ohio-state-welcomes-in-ucla-to-ohio-stadium-for-first-time-since-1999
We've def played them more than 3 times. We played them 3 times when I was in school in the 70s, one in the Rose Bowl that I made the trip to help bring home the Natty in Archie's last game that I will never forget....didn't turn out well.
According to the school’s historical database. The series is 1-1. In the link below. Maybe it was USC you’re thinking about. Osu has played them a ton. Ohio State Football History vs UCLA
It's wrong....that only indicates a brief time 3 year time frame "Football History vs UCLA from September 11, 1999 - September 22, 2001". I actually still have the ticket stub also....tried to upload a pic of the game program that Arch autographed for me but got a file too large error
I got 9 times; I was also at tOSU during the 75 season and remember that 76 Rose Bowl well...though I didn't go out to the game. Game-by-Game Results Year Location Winner Score Notes 1961 Los Angeles Ohio State 13–0 First meeting; OSU shutout. 1962 Columbus Ohio State 26–14 Woody Hayes defeats Bill Barnes. 1972 Columbus Ohio State 17–10 Tight defensive game. 1975 Los Angeles Ohio State 41–20 OSU dominant; both teams later meet in the Rose Bowl this season. 1976 (Rose Bowl) Pasadena UCLA 23–10 Major upset. OSU was ranked #1, heavily favored, but UCLA stunned the Buckeyes. 1979 (Sept.) Columbus UCLA 17–13 Bruins pull another upset early in the season. 1980 (Sept.) Los Angeles Ohio State 9–3 Defensive battle. 1981 (Sept.) Los Angeles UCLA 21–19 Close road loss for OSU. 1999 Columbus Ohio State 42–20 Most recent matchup; OSU wins convincingly.
Yep, we had smoked 'em earlier in the season and on the road at that. If I recally correctly we lead 38-7 at one point before Woody called off the dogs. Me and my posse thought the road trip to LA was simply a mere formality to the coronation. Led 3-0 at halftime and UCLA had maybe 25 yards of total offense but as it turns out Archied had broken his hand on his first carry of the game. The Dick Vermeil-led Bruins showed some resilience and Wendell Tyler went nuts in the second half. Final 23-10 UCLA...one of my most disappointing losses particfularly as I had spent the majority of my beer and weed money for the upcoming quarter on the trip
Mack Rhoades is taking time off as AD at Baylor following an incident on the sidelines of a Baylor game recently. Now he's off the CFP committee and and the Utah AD will fill his spot, Mark Harland. Hunter Yurachek the Arkansas AD will take over as the Chairman. A new guy changes the dynamics in the room for sure, how it will impact the vote nobody knows of course.
You Tube TV and Disney reached an agreement. Wonder if Disney’s recent bad earnings report and drop in stock value altered their negotiating position.
I picked Clemson on the Friday night game and the game proved to be a pretty even match. Unfortunately Louisville had two very makeable field goals in the last quarter and missed both of them. Tough way to lose a close game.
