Watched USC/Northwestern last night. USC won, NU put up a good fight though. There were two plays that were pretty amazing. 1. Fake Punt. USC had their backup QB in the same number as their punter and he was back there and threw a perfect shotgun pass for a big first down. The announcers were amazed at the punter throwing such a great pass, even did a slow motion to show how good his techinque was...then it turned out the guy wasn't the punter but the backup QB. USC had him listed on the official roster with the same number as the punter so it was legal. 2. USC QB throws a pick and the big man, an edge guy with number in the 90's got the pick and was rumbling towards the endzone for a schore when Mialava ran him down and put a shoulder into him and knocked the ball the loose and it went through the endzone for a touch back and USC ball!
Cold, wet, nasty weather in Iowa City. Kinnick is not a fun place to visit in November. This will be a big test for Oregon
BYU soundly beaten by Tech so we are down to onl 3 unbeaten teams. I will be surprised if BYU doesn't drop 5 or 6 slots in the CFP Rankings. They were beaten soundly. They will likely have to win the Big 12 which is still possible to make the CFP
Nice win for Indiana at Penn State today in the closing moments, but a difficult loss for the Penn State team and fans.
Aggies 21-0 in 3rd qtr and looking like they will win in a walk Oregon and Iowa tight game. Still raining.
Another unbelievable ending, this time in Iowa City. Where the Hawkeyes made a great drive to take a 16-15 lead with slightly less than 2 minutes to play. But like IU earlier, the Oregon QB drove the Ducks to the winning FG. He, like the IU QB, made some great throws. This game was played in the rain and the crowd hung in there the whole game.
Gritty win for the Ducks in the snake pit environment of Kinnick. This and the Indiana game were sensational.
The Badgers upset Washington in snowy Madison starting a true frosh QB who was on the scout team but elevated to starter due to injuries. Clearly the Badgers players have not quit on Fickell during a brutal season.
LSU has been shooting itself in the foot all night but it’s still a 1 score game in favor of Alabama mid 4th Q. Bama’s running game has been non existent.
I see that Diego Pavia put Vandy on his back, again, and they beat Auburn in OT 45-38 He had almost 500 yds of total offense.
Alabama has wrapped this game up. LSU is going to need an exorcism to get the Kelly sloppiness out of its system.
TOK, I agree but while DeBoer’s teams at Washington were pass oriented, they could also run the ball effectively. With better talent at Alabama, it is baffling that he can’t duplicate that at Bama.
