Irish up 1 slot to #12. Which is the worst slot you can be in if a lower ranked Conference champion like Clemson last year knocks you out. Same for the best Group of 5 who is guaranteed a slot.

Yep, that was Alabama’s slot last year.

Well seems Marcus is on the list for major job openings like PSU and Florida.
Personally I don’t think He will leave ND unless it would be OSt (Alma mater) or a NFL job.
I’m pretty sure it will be Kiffin taking the UF job.

Long way to go. Way too soon to start worrying about future decisions we can't control. We have one goal: win out and let the chips fall. In my opinion, USC was the team on the remaining schedule most capable of derailing our playoff hopes. Almost everything went wrong for us that could have, yet we never lost our determination and continued to fight (refuse-to-lose mindset). We overcame USC's incredible talent and and our own mistakes and found a way to win. I said earlier that we're starting to get it. A bye this week then the home stretch. I feel good about what lies ahead but am taking nothing for granted.

we just need to win our remaining games and the rest should fall in place. As we’ve seen this season, you don’t know what’s going to happen any given Saturday

Looks like LG Billy Schrauth will miss most of the regular season, same for Gabe Rubio. Next man up.

Can’t believe I now have to root for USC, TA&M and Miami to win the rest of this season to have a good chance to make it to the CFP. If we had won 1 of 2 first games we would be in a good spot.
Obviously, we now have to rely on some chaos and losses among teams ranked higher.
The good thing is this season is more unpredictable than I’ve seen in a long time and from week to week strange things seem to happen.

I am happy though that The Irish seem to have found their footing after the way the season started.

Tim, I agree with your assessment with one exception. I'll never root for USC or Miami. Re: chaos: There are teams ahead of us who will lose. Whether or not we have a chance to end up in the top ten and/or in the playoffs depends on several factors, only one of which is within our control: winning.

Well this weekend should be interesting. Of course the Irish are on a bye week so no stress.
Time to sit back, relax and hopefully watch a lot of chaos take place, especially those teams ranked above ND in the polls.

Irish men lost their exhibition game to DePaul, from what I read Markus Burton was a no show for this game. Real season starts 11-3 vs Long Island..

I think the women play Purdue-Northwest 10/30 and Farleigh Dickinson on 11/5 as exhibition games.

The Irish Women's Basketball team picked up another top recruit when Amari Byles a Top 25 recruit for 2026 announced for Coach Ivey's Team. She's been hot on the recruiting trail this cycle after a couple of years of only picking up a single recruit. She's got 2 other Top 25 recruits. Her best class by far.

Well it’s BC week. I’m sure the students and fans are stocking up with batteries to throw for the game.

When I was in college we apparently did not have money to waste by throwing batteries:(

Women's Soccer was tied 1-1 by Wake Forrest today, drop into a 1st place tie with Stanford. More importantly super star Izzy Engle left the match with an injury. She's the juice for this team, no word on the injury and when she can return to play.

This shows how old I am. I’m pretty sure it was Ron Powlus back In the mid nineties who said they were throwing batteries at the ND players in Chestnut Hill

Tim, I don’t remember that, but my memory isn’t that sharp these days. I always have thought that the BC fans I’ve seen at ND lacked class.
