He's getting paid! And I have no doubt a huge buyout if a few years from now things aren't like they are today!!

I wonder if IU's strategy going forward will be to continue to build the program every year with the Portal or will their success allow them to go after and succeed with the top 100/300 type HS players and sprinkle in a few Portal players every year?

Will they become one of the top Big 10 programs going forward, joining Ohio State and Michigan at the top?

Way too early to tell. It doesn’t seem to happen that way very often. Miami did it back in the 80s, but I can’t think of another historically middle of the pack school moving up to the top like that and staying. Can you?

I agree it's too early to tell. Hopefully, their recruiting will improve in terms of perceived quality HS players, but if the portal works, why fix what ain't broke? Heck, it's too early to predict even this season. It's only half over.

Agree Sid but the time is passing very quickly, as it seems to be the trend as we age!:)

Wow, Louisville has quickly jumped out to a 14-0 lead on Miami. Scored on both of their 1st 2 possessions and Miami had a 3 and out. Of course a long way to go.

Also wondering if Rhule brings a lot of Nebraska players with him if he gets an offer and takes the PSU job?

Beck just threw his 3rd pick and Louisville is up 24-13 with 8 minutes left. Beck also threw another pick that was overturned by a bogus roughing the passer call. If Louisville can run some clock now and get at least a FG that might be enough.

This is one of those games I hate, because I don't like either Louisville or Miami!

Well Louisville just fumbled it back to them and they are in the redzone ...yeeesh.

Down goes Miami, Beck was driving the Cane's to at least a tie to force OT, but maybe a win ...but he throws his 4th pick of the game and that was all she wrote.

Gophers ran over Nebraska 24-6 tonight. Fleck catches a lot of grief for his PR stuff, but he has definitely turned Minnesota into a solid program.

I am always delighted to see Miami lose for some reason? Beck's four interceptions did not help.:(

Alabama’s 4th ranked opponent in 4 weeks and it’s one of our arch rivals. We’ve been playing well except for our running game. We also still have propensity to give up a quick touchdown early in the game. That is eventually going to bite us.

Since we are favored by 28 points over Whisky today, I hope we can see our backup QBs in action the second half today.

With all the Matt Rhule to Penn State talk, I wonder if this loss cools it a bit?

Rhule was adamant at his press conference that he is staying at Nebraska. He sounded convincing. If he is lying, he should go into acting as he came across as completely sincere.

Well no way before the end of the season will Rhule do anything other than express love for Corn. But then again maybe he's going to take the Kirk Ferentz route and be happy at a place where winning the National Championship isn't the measure, where 9 win seasons are awesome.
