Buckeyes take #1 in the AP , followed by Penn State, LSU, Georgia and Miami. Texas, Clemson and ND were 7.8.and 9. Only ranked v ranked in week 2 is Michigan @ Oklahoma
Terry, that's a much more realistic ranking than the Athletic poll I mentioned in another topic. I'm just glad we didn't drop from the top ten. I believe it shows respect for how we played as well as obvious respect for how Miami played.
Here is my Grambling State preview. Enjoy. https://www.vsbnradio.com/post/buckeyes-host-grambling-state-in-a-cutural-clash
They are still messing around with the portal timing, now saying a 10 day window in January that will conflict with the playoffs. This is a now win situation, kids who want to change schools all want to be at the new school for Spring Practice. They also want to be recruited and get the best deal, hard to do in a 10 day window. I don't have a solution but this isn't it.
Travelling thru Charlotte on my way to the Buckeye game this weekend and our friend Bobda will be pleased to know that Wolverine nation is out in force today on their way to Norman. Never seen that many infidels out in public....kinda creepy, but I digess. Expect a strong turn out in Norman for a great game I'm looking forward to watching. Go Blue!!
Interesting comments from Saban on the wealth of the Big 10 vs the SEC. He claims that the Big 10 has a lot of Billionaire donors while the SEC only has a few. Some SEC powers don't have single Billionaire donor, like LSU. Nick Saban Shares SEC's Dirty Little Money Secret, Fans Might Be Offended: WATCH As hard as it might be for some SEC fans to hear, Saban is 100% correct. The money produced at Big Ten schools is insane. Michigan alone has 15 billionaire alumni and UCLA has 12, according to the latest NASDAQ data. Wisconsin - a program that has slipped in recent years - also has the kind of money the overwhelming SEC programs couldn't dream of sniffing when it comes to alumni. John Menard Jr. and Colin Huang have a combined net worth of north of $66 billion. Northwestern, USC, Michigan and UCLA are all in the 20 top universities *IN THE WORLD* for producing high-net worth individuals. Texas is the only school in the SEC represented in the rankings.
Good bounce back win for the Longhorns. Arch looked good, not Heisman good but a solid performance vs an inferior opponent. 38-7. Still a lot of work for him. Color me surprised to see Zach Calzada still playing QB . Kentucky.
A lot of big numbers today, mismatches. But a shocker in Gainesville, the Gators lost to USF in a close one, has to be tough for Gator fans to take. Clemson was on upset alert for quite awhile but looking like they'll survive Troy.
USF took Alabama to the last quarter last year. They are dangerous. Baylor beat SMU and Iowa State struggled too.
M is fortunate to be only down 7-0. I also hope our OC tears (or deletes)the bubble screen play out of the playbook.
A Florida player spit on a USF player and got caught and ejected. The penalty was what allowed USF to take that last minute FG shot to win. Gramatica missed a 58-yarder with 2:52 remaining but got a chance to redeem himself after Florida defensive lineman Brandon Bett spit at a South Florida player on the Bulls' next possession. Bett was ejected with a little more than two minutes to play, and the Bulls (2-0) got 15 yards and an automatic first down to spark an 87-yard drive. It was the latest setback for embattled Florida coach Billy Napier, whose team is 1-1 for the fourth consecutive year.
Oklahoma’s defensive line kicked the crap out of M’s offensive line in the 1st H. O’s defense is crowding the LOS daring M to throw the ball downfield. Why spend big NIL money to get Underwood and waste his talent throwing bubble screens?
I know it’s ULM, but I’m really pleased with Alabama’s performance today. Simpson is 17 for 17 in the first half.
