So far Arch has been a disappointment, maybe not all his fault as the Buckeye defense has been great so far, but that pick was on him. If he can't get something going in the passing game we have no chance.
Ball game. Arch has a lot of work to do, right now based on OSU/ND and Texas/OSU I'd rather have Riley Leonard than Arch. Congrats Don, Stu and BuckeyeT.
Well, neither qb had outstanding an outstanding game, but Manning will need to improve to have a chance at the Heisman. Sayin looked good. Not great but good. Both defenses looked very good especially against the run.
A very different type of game than I anticipated, but I will take the win. That third quarter goal stand was a thing of beauty. Disappointed we could not run out the clock on the next to last drive. The play calling in my opinion shows room for improvement
Just like last year, Buckeyes came up with the red zone stops when needed and made the big play for a TD, last year it was Henderson's TD run and then the scoop and score from Sawyer. This year more red zone defense and the big play from Tate. Texas season isn't over in the CFP era but 10-2 is gong to be tough to achieve. The good news for Arch and Sark is that the next 3 games are like exhibition games. San Jose State, UTEP and Sam Houston so they should be able to get things worked out before starting the SEC schedule.
I agree kp, Saying did not make many mistakes, which was impressive to me, especially for the first start.
It was the perfect storm for Arch to face. Ridiculously inflated expectations, 1st road start in a hostile environment, very talented personnel on defense, new DC with decades of NFL experience as a play caller and game planner with all summer to scheme multi-coverages and disguise and the player - Caleb Downs - to manage, communicate and execute. Sark himself mentioned the "elite" coverages and disguises in his presser. It was clear early that the moment might be a little to big for Arch and he was never comfortable with what he was seeing on the back end and it had his head spinning. To his credit, he rallied his team back and was driving to tie the game at the end. He's gonna be a great QB, just not in Columbus on Saturday against that defense. Couldn't be more thrilled with the defense after losing 8 starters to the NFL draft and a top DC, to put that group together in a performance like that.....they're gonna be nasty
