In the final minutes Houston had Duke befuddled with its aggressiveness. Because of what he did to IU's program, I can't like him, but he sure is one heckuva coach. I knew I had seen great defense from both teams in the first game. Houston took it up a notch. Should be a wild final.
No doubt UCONN was the best team this season, blew out Big 10 Champion UCLA, blew out SEC Champion South Carolina. Neither game was ever close. 12th title for Geno and UCONN. Incredible record for both Geno and UCONN.
Aggies have their replacement for Buzz. Bucky McMillan from Samford. He's got a lot of work to do as the Aggies currently have a roster of 1 after graduation and transfer losses. Fast paced uptempo, Bucky Ball is coming to college station. He won a lot at the prep level and he's done a excellent job at Samford. Can he make the jump. We'll see.
I heard on ESPNU that Walter Clayton Jr, was a better football player and had offers from Georgia, FSU, Tenn and ND...but chose to go to Iona for basketball.
College sports is no more. It's a bunch of mercenaries that won't even practice without the right $incentive$... This disgusts me, I won't miss it.
Baylor will have zero players left from the 2024-25 Basketball squad...none, nada, zip. There is no coaching change but nobody is staying.
Not sure what to think about this. Will he really move ito Sacramento and work the job full time? It seems like he's more likely to be a figure head to attempt to give them some street cred with young players. Shaquille O'Neal has agreed to become the men's basketball general manager of Sacramento State, sources told ESPN. It will be an unpaid role for the Naismith Basketball Hall of Famer, whose son, Shaqir O'Neal, will also play for Sacramento State under new coach Mike Bibby. Shaquille O'Neal is the latest high-profile athlete to accept a general manager role with a school. NBA superstar Stephen Curry was named an assistant GM at his alma mater Davidson last month while retired NFL quarterback Andrew Luck accepted a position with Stanford last year.
ACC Moving to try and beef up the schedule, this only works if the teams are willing and able to get marquee games scheduled. The Atlantic Coast Conference is reducing its 20-game men's basketball schedule to 18, giving teams two more spots for marquee nonconference games in a bid to boost a league getting a dwindling haul of NCAA tournament bids, a person familiar with the decision said Wednesday. The person spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity because the ACC hasn't officially announced the move, which was first reported by CBS Sports.
