I think virtually everybody assumes that Ewers will go to the NFL and Arch will be the starter. Arch has waited 2 years I couldn't see him waiting 3 years if Ewers said he wanted to come back, and I couldn't see Ewers coming back unless he was guaranteed to be the starter.

Some internet articles claim Ewers will be going to Oregon for 4-6M, or to Ohio State, or to Georgia again for big bucks. But I think those are mostly clickbait articles planted by his agent.

Question for you though. Does Ohio State go with the RS Freshman at QB or go to the Portal?

Think Texas would go with Manning.

Looks like Notre Dame and Ohio State are favorites next week.

My picks for the final were Georgia and Texas. So far I am
    0-1. Texas has a shot.

Good question Terry, My guess is that Saying the Alabama transfer will be the starting QB. However, a portal QB is not out of the question either.

I agree with Don, by all accounts they love what they see in Sayin and he looks to be the favorite to start next year. They are also very high on Tavien St. Clair a 24 signee who will enroll early and be on campus when spring semester starts Jan 8 so I would be surprised by any high profile transfer. That said, Day has a history of grabbing a transfer out of the portal to provide some experienced depth and maturity in the room. I'm looking forward to seeing the Sayin kid this spring....he can really spin it

Congrats to the Irish! Happy for Marcus, it looks like he is on track to build something special at ND. I expect the next game to be a rock fight. The teams look to be mirror images of each other. PSU has a nasty defense as well, two solid running backs but their OL is a little suspect in pass pro and they don't have alot that scares people downfield. I think both teams will have trouble moving the football. I think your QB may again be the game changer with his legs. First team to 20 wins, imo....

Kirby Smart suffered an even bigger loss this week than the one to the Irish. His Dad died from complications following surgery for broken hip suffered while in New Orleans for the game.

I'm not sure how FPI is calculated, but ESPN says the Irish have the best chance to win it all. I guess they didn't watch the Buckeyes destroy both Tenn and Oregon.

I saw that too. Got to be "home field" advantage. Our FPI ranking is a touch higher but the "Win Out%" favors the Longhorns. I know many algos give "points" for for home games and/or proximity. Looks like the Horns are getting the benefit of Jerry World. In truth, it's too close to call for both games. I'm struggling with the ND-PSU game as well. Could well come down to the health of Abdul-Carter -v- Love. Both are difference makers

Looks like Mills is questionable for the Penn State game? That could be a difference maker as well!I am anticipating a close game and down to the wire.

I don't know about the algorithms (What is FPI?) but my eye test tells me, 1) We have a legit chance in the Orange Bowl; 2) if we win and Ohio State beats Texas, we're cooked; 3) if by some chance Texas wins, we again have a legit chance. That's the SET algorithm - Sid's Eye Test.

I have always made it a point to include SET into my preferred predictive algos! As for myself, the algo that I typically end up using is OWNID.....Often Wrong, Never In Doubt!

FPI stands for Football Power Index and it's been around awhile. The other well known are FEI and SP+ and I know Sagarin has one also. FPI uses FEI rankings as I understand it, adjusts for recruiting rankings and returning "production". For my money, SP+ is the superior model as it adjusts for opponent strength at the "per play" level. Right now SP+ gives us a 62% chance of winning by a score of 26-22 and gives PSU a 51% chance of winning with a predicted score of 25-25 and projected winning margin of 0.3 o_O. It's gonna be two great games, I really am at a loss to call the ND-PSU game.

That sucks...seems like it happened to us one year but I can't pin down when. Good luck. Hope it doesn't affect the game.

Carson Beck is headed to the transfer portal. Gunner shot him.

Beck reportedly is headed to Miami, but just looking for the best situation. The problem is that due to his surgery he won't be able to play in the Spring game where ever he ends up at. It was a problem for Riley Leonard in learning the offense since he also couldn't play in the Spring.

He's likely to get some good NIL money to help out. Also his injury prevents him from working out for the NFL and probably why he is going to stay in college. It's a risk of course as he could have a average year and hurt his draft status .

Beck might have already hurt his draft status and that’s why he’s staying. Of course it looks like NIL make be keeping a lot of juniors around.
