Just switched to SMU/Clemson in time to see SMU tie it up and then Clemson returns the KO for 40 yards and they have a chance with 9 secs ...they complete a pass and now lining up for a 55 yard FG. He hit and Clemson wins, this probably eliminates Alabama.
SMU over Bama. I am a little surprised as Alabama played a far harder schedule, played in a far stronger conference, and had a better record against teams with over a 500 record.
Odom's background is defense, I'm a little surprised that the Boilermakers didn't go for a guy with an offensive background. Seems like that is where they have had the most success. Never the less Odom is a good get or Purdue.
I think the committee just told us, we don’t care who you play as long as you win. Alabama has had a routine of playing a quality opponent early in the season. I would hope that would stop now. The SEC schedule will be hard enough. There is no reward for that risk.
Is it just me or does it seem that Penn. St. has the best seeding here? For a team that didn't beat one top 20 team they have SMU, the last team selected, in the first round and then Boise St. in the quarter finals. Going into the championship game with OU they were ranked behing ND and after loosing they're seeded ahead of them?
Looks like Ohio State will play Tennessee in a home game here Saturday 12/21 8:00 on ABC. I have no idea what to expect??
In the NCAA basketball brackets, the conference winners get bids but are seeded based on their body of work. Should be the same in football.
Terry, totally agree. If teams were seeded based on merit, Boise and ASU would have been far lower seeds. Giving them a high seed automatically because they conference champion defeats the premise behind seeding.
Mike, PSU and Texas both benefit from where they are seeded. Oregon is a 1 seed and get either Tennessee or Ohio State in the second round. Texas gets ASU and PSU gets Boise. Incomprehensible.
So we have players headed to the Portal in droves, and we are sure to have a ton of the players leaving for the NFl opting out of the bowl games. Going to be some teams with short rosters for the non-playoff bowls.
Buckeye back up QB to the Portal, surprising with Howard going to the NFL. I guess he doesn't see himself playing ahead of the 2 5 star freshmen the Buckeyes have on the bench. Still could have stayed and taken advantage of the extra time playoff players get.
