Buckeyes off and running with another slow start n the firsts half of the Akron game. Smith first round freshman star, appears to be a winner. Offensive line still struggling, our rushing game should help the passing game. Much work needed if we are to compete for the title this year.

OL clearly a work in progress as it looked "clunky" for much of the day. Missing 1 starter out yesterday and two new additions this year to the interior, they looked the part of a new group that needs time to gel/work out the kinks and they are plentiful. QB appears serviceable, clearly (imo) a step down as a passer from McCord but a much superior run threat. I expect Q run to be a more important part of the Kelly offense vs the vertical passing game that Day often featured. Young freshman Smith appears worthy of the hype. He already looks to be WR1 in a room full of primary target capable dudes with 1st Rd draft grades and years more experience. He has a very bright future. Defense looks to be as advertised tho we won't know much more until they play somebody with a pulse. All in, a successful opener.....

Anybody notice that Hudson Card went 24 of 25 for Purdue yesterday before being relieved in the middle of the third quarter? I know it was just Indiana State but gives me thoughts that we just might have to be taken seriously this year.

Re: Purdue. They were picked to finish last in the Big 10. They'll be playing with a chip on their shoulder.

Well FSU appears to be in trouble to start this season, with that loss last night to Boston College.

Their offense is really ineffective. Uiagalelei has had 2 very bad starts so far. 21 yards rushing for the Seminoles. Amazing.

Wow, the Pac12 lives. 4 Mountain West teams have agreed and been accepted as members.

Colorado State, San Diego State, Fresno State and Boise State.

Fresno State will join the Pac-12 in the 2026-27 academic year, they announced Thursday.

The Pac-12 board of directors unanimously approved applications from the four Mountain West schools, which will join Oregon State and Washington State, the conference's two remaining schools following the league's collapse in the summer of 2023.

Boise State among 4 joining Pac-12 for 2026-27

I think a lot of college payers may be disappointed with the facilities when they get to the NFL.

I guess the next question is will the Mountain West survive. They've already have had 4 teams poached and the Pac12 needs at least 2 more from somewhere and I just saw an article on ESPN that said Air Force is being courted by the AAC, where Army and Navy are for football.

Not sure I saw this coming.

The legal battle between Florida State, Clemson, and the Atlantic Coast Conference may soon be winding down. Yahoo’s Ross Dellenger has reported the ACC is exploring a model that would give the conference’s preeminent football powers a greater share of revenue in return for dropping the lawsuits against the conference.

Utah State set to leave the Mountain West for the newly growing Pac12. This leaves the Mtn West with only 7 schools and the Pac 12 with 7 schools, they both have to find another school and the Mtn West has to avoid losing another school.

Crazy if the Mtn West goes down and the Pac12 revives itself!
