OK folks after a taste in Week 0 here we go, big slate of games this weekend.

    1. Georgia vs Clemson ...this is the big game of the weekend. Clemson really needs to play very well and maybe even win, just can't get blown out.

    2. Ohio State vs Akron ...warm up game for the Buckeyes

    3. Oregon vs Idaho ...another warm up game.

    4. Texas vs Colorado State ...CSU is a solid Mountain West team, Longhorns need to be ready.

    5. Alabama vs W.Kentucky ...another warm up game.

    6. Ole Miss vs Furman ...you might not want to watch this slaughter.

    7. Notre Dame @ A&M ...after Georgia/Clemson this is the game to watch.

    8. Penn State @ West Virginia....Nit's are thinking Playoff, West Virginia is thinking PSU.

    9. Michigan vs Fresno State ...like Colorado State, FSU is a solid Mountain West team. Michigan still not clear of the Connor Stallions stuff though, but proved last year that at least on the field it was not a distraction.

    10. ???? haven't got the latest rankings and not sure who is #10.

    others

South Dakota State @ Oklahoma State I don't think the Jackrabbits have QR codes on their helmets but they are very good FCS program, Pokes better watch out.

Miami @ Florida Bill will be watching this with interest. Both teams need the win Miami is ranked Gators are not, but it is in the Swamp!

Full slate of games but most of the top 25 have exhibition matches scheduled so I don't expect a lot of upsets. But hey it's College Football ver 2.0!!!!!

Forgot about LSU vs USC in Las Vegas. That should be a great game.

Thursday night (8/29) is North Dakota State at Colorado. With Coach Prime at the helm CU was the "It Team" at the beginning of last season and their exciting opening win at TCU had everyone talking.

After starting 3-0, the Buffs went 1-8 in conference, including losing six straight games to finish the season. They've had a turbulent off-season, recently banned Denver Post columnist Sean Keeler (perhaps justifiably) and now have a bit of a spat going on X with former players and their family members.

NDSU is another perennial FCS contender and boasts a 7-4 record against FBS schools, including winning six straight match-ups before losing their last contest in 2022.

The Buffs are favored by 10, but I think the game is worth watching for a possible Bison upset.

Miami in the Swamp. Brings back old memories.

Growing up in Miami I was a big Hurricane fan. Then I went north to Gainesville to college at UF and I became a Gator for life. Kind of still liked Miami for awhile but also kept coming back to Miami and eventually went to work for Florida Power and Light in Miami.

Found so many Miami fans hated the Gators and I eventually lost all interest in the Canes.

Eventually FSU came on the Gator schedule and pushed the Miami rivalry down the list and when the SEC schedule kept us from being able to play both every year FSU became ahead of Miami and they became an occasional opponent not regular.

More to the story but that is enough for now.

    Go Gators.

Pretty big taste in week o with Georgia Tech beating FSU.

Big upset but I sure remember when Georgia Tech was a top team year in and year out. Bobby Dodd pulled them from the SEC to be independent which was probably benifical to them for awhile but in the long run they should have stayed in the SEC.

Start of the post-Saban era at Alabama. DeBoer had a pretty good recruiting season and obviously knows how to win, BUT I'm not sure he has been tested week in and week out like he will be in the SEC. I think Saban's biggest talent may have been getting 4 and 5 star players to buy into the "system". Does DeBoer have a "system" and can he get all of those egos pulling in one direction? Western Kentucky should allow him to ease into the season but we have Georgia at the end of September. How many number 1's has he faced in the regular season?

Re: DeBoer. I'm sure kp and others would agree that perhaps the toughest part of coaching in any sport is following a legend. In the case of Alabama, he's following possibly the greatest college coach ever, at least one of the greatest. All eyes will be on him this season, parsing every aspect of his coaching. Does "successful season" mean undefeated and national championship or something close? Stay tuned.

To my mind, it will not take a National Championship to be successful (this year), but it will need to include at least one playoff win. He has most of Sabans recruits and a good class of his own. Talent should not be a problem. Game management should not be a problem. Getting his own system well established would be an expected concern. No pressure.

    Everybody watching Coach Prime tonight?o_O

I will say that a sold out stadium in Colorado is proof that you don't need 100K fans for a great college atmosphere.

Pretty good game so far. NDSU leading 20-17 at the half. Hoping the Bison can hang in there.

The Bison go into the half up 20-17. Sanders the QB has been excellent, but their defense isn't great so that is allowing NDSU to have that small lead.

Bison pass defense has begun to betray them. Buffs lead 24-20 in the 4th, but still under 12 minutes to go.

    N. Dakota State has given Colorado all they can handle and are putting together a pretty good drive right now. TD! It’s not over.

Final is 31-26, CU. Great effort by NDSU, but they fell short.

Minnesota loses at home to NC after a failed field goal attempt on the last play of the game. But, since they paid for friggen fireworks, they still shot em off!

Too bad about UNC QB,Max Johnson. It was his time but now he's likely out for the year. Trans from LSU to A&M, and now to UNC looking for a healthy year and a chance to show his stuff.
