A Cooper's Hawk in the camphor laurel tree in our back yard. We have three of them and think there's a nest in one of the Chinese elms in our front yard or our neighbor's front yard.

I've seen a Cooper's Hawk a few times over the years straddling our backyard fence, behind which is a heavily wooded area. I have no idea if it's the same one or different visitors.

Here's a photo of one of the Cooper's Hawks from my neighbors, two doors down. It's in their front yard, underneath a jacaranda tree, which is currently in (glorious) full bloom...

The squirrels and songbirds in your neighborhood are probably being very discreet and quiet.

They have been, and Kim and the neighbor's wife two doors down have begun to despair over the feathers and carcasses, not to mention having witnessed the occasional kill. The mockingbirds immediately bolted, but we have a lot of crows in our neighborhood and they're starting to band together and hold cawing fests to annoy the hawks and warn their prey. They want those mockingbird nests full of fresh eggs back.

More of life with Elsa....almost 6 months now, latest weight predictor algo tells us she's gonna be 100+ #! I'm thinking more like upper 70's/low 80's but her Daddy was 110 so there is that

She's getting better about staying off of the furniture.....

My goober of a "new" dog is now 1 1/2 so fully grown. He's about 70-75 lbs, but cant keep any more weight on because he thinks he's part greyhound. Spends his days circling the 2 acres at full speed barking at horses that pass, or the occasional peacock (a neighbor has 2 that wander the area).
Sometimes he doesn't get out to expend that energy, and you get what we have here:
    NOT SORRY!

    Right?
Thankfully he's only a destroyer with certain items, and its almost always his stuffed toys.
What you see in the picture was our other dog's bed. Guess it seemed similar to a stuffed toy to him?

Elsa is jealous of your boy's playground, sounds like doggie heaven. Much like your boy she loves to run and when she doesn't get enough, she's pure menace! The golf course behind us has been closed for maintenance since we've had her and it's due to re-open very soon...party's over for Elsa! I'm gonna have to come up with some other options for her pronto

Scott, your sofa and dining table might be viewed by him as soft targets. His eyes are of a good boy looking for action!
