Stu, I am convinced Coach Day have some sleepless nights this coming season. I do hope things work out for all concerned but he is going to have many difficult decisions to make this year. Losing to Michigan is not going to be an option in the equation.

It looks like going forward your head coach is going to have one main job: Manage the roster.
Since it'll probably be recreated each season (even at the elite schools) there's no time for being a coordinator as well.

Damn, here am I, a magnanimous Wolverine, trying to cheer up my Buckeye buddies and I get snark in response. Not saying Howard = Allen ( who was once viewed as a bust NFL 1st round pick). Just saying with his size, speed and intermediate passing stats, his closest NFL template would be Allen. C’mon despondent buddy, look at the run below in the 2nd video and tell me that this guy has the potential to be a beast.

No worries buddy, after what I saw in the Cotton Bowl, I'd be happy with a pudgy, poor man's Josh Allen even if he had a bootleg Ozempic habit.

BTW, I'll be rooting hard for a Natty for a B1G conference rep. ;) Good luck old friend

I was literally getting ready to post he same thing. In addition to the 2 transfers he picked up, kudos to Coach Day for his off-season efforts, that truly is extraordinary in this day and age. There's a few first rounders in that bunch.

Another crazy day in college football. Now the WSU QB Cam Ward says forget that NFL stuff I was talking about I’m going to UM!!!

This madness never stops. This is what happens when you don’t hold these young men to some sort of accountability. Words mean nothing anymore. Just because they tell you they will be playing for this or that team today tomorrow they can change theirs minds and there is no consequences or accountability for their actions. I’m too old I guess and the values I have are just a thing of the past.

You can bet that it was a financial decision. He's probably got a NFL grade that puts him in the 3rd or 4th round and Miami offered him more money than that and he figured that he could possibly improve his NFL standing with a good year at Miami.

FSU has loaded up on Alabama players from the Portal, they have gotten 5 so far. I imagine FSU boosters are putting up Big $$$ in NIL money.

Just read that Jimmy interviewed with the Chargers today. Can anyone recall a coach who just won a national championship going job hunting two days after the celebratory parade? I will not begrudge him if he leaves as he rebuilt the program and accomplished what he was hired to do. But my recollection is that coaches who win the ultimate prize usually take some time to enjoy the triumph and then hit the grindstone to try and repeat the success. But Michigan’s March Hare hops in a path that will always be confounding.

He interviewed for the Vikings job and didn't get it, I could easily see him being a bad interview and teams worried about how he'll play out with the team even given he's taken a team to the Super Bowl.

Has any college ever had a guy so openly interview for NFL jobs? Was the Vikings interview his first?

Yes. Interviewed with the Vikings in 2022 and the Broncos and Panthers in 2023.

I don't have the facts or memory capacity, but I'm pretty sure that Harbaugh is one of the few - if not the only - college coaches who had success in the NFL. I'm remembering Lou Holtz, Pete Carroll, Nick Saban, Steve Spurrier, and others who don't immediately come to mind.

Agree with your list Sid except for Carroll. Won the SB in 2014 and should have won his 2nd in 2015 had he handed the ball to Lynch at the Patriots 1 ( who ran through NE the whole game) rather than trying a quick slant pass play that gave the Patriots a miracle pick.
