    Big win for AJ's Huskers.

Dylan Raiola, ESPN's top pocket-passing quarterback in the 2024 recruiting class, told ESPN on Monday he's switching his college commitment to Nebraska from Georgia.

The decision marks a potential seismic shift in fortunes for Nebraska football, as Raiola's commitment makes him the highest-ranked high school recruit to pick the Cornhuskers since ESPN began tracking rankings in 2006, per ESPN Stats & Information.

Raiola is ranked No. 8 overall in the 2024 ESPN 300.

In a phone interview Monday, Raiola detailed how a lifetime of being intertwined with Nebraska football played into his decision. His father, Dominic, was an All-American offensive lineman there, and his uncle Donovan is the school's offensive line coach.

"I firmly believe that Nebraska is in my blood," Raiola told ESPN. "It's a great opportunity to be part of something bigger than myself. Nebraska is a special place."

I do think Rhule was a great hire for the Huskers, not sure he can get you ahead of UM and OSU but I would bet on him getting ahead of Penn State and Wisconsin.

I haven't heard of anybody getting stiffed at the last moment by a recruit so far, so I guess it's safe to assume that all the verbals signed LOI's.

Well Georgia did flip a 5 star kid today from FSU. The #1 recruiting class is Georgia and this make 3 5 star players.

The #3 class for the Buckeyes leads with fiv 5 star kids including the #1 player overall who is of course a WR, the WR room is a rich get richer for the Buckeyes. I do wonder if Marvin Harrison Jr will decide to return to take care of unfinished business or go to the NFL.

The largest class is the 31 recruits that Rhule brought in for Nebraska, including the 5 star QB Dylan Raiola. Both Georgia and #9 Oklahoma brought in 28 recruits.

I'm a bit surprised that Michigan after putting together 2 great seasons (2022 and 23) didn't have a top 10 class. They check in at #15 right behind #14 Penn State neither of whom have a 5 star kid. There was a time when Michigan was regularly bringing in top 5 classes or better.

Ralph, the Hurricanes had a good class, #3 currently in the 247. Although it wasn't but an hour or so ago that Ohio State was #3. I don't know who or what happened to move you guys up.

Cristobal hasn't been a great success on the field, 12-12 in his 2 years at da U. But he's recruiting well with 2 top 10 classes in his 2 years. So he's building something, I would imagine next year could be a turning point for your team.

You have been gone awhile Ralph...I'm getting older now, and scoffing hurts lately. Thanks for the great words of encouragement.

Looks like Georgia, Alabama, Ohio State are top 3 in no particular order. Surprising Michigan apparently not top 10.

Casey Thompson who started at QB for Texas, Nebraska, and then went to FAU where he tore his ACL is getting a 7th year and is in the Portal or going to the NFL. He has no chance of even making a NFL practice squad, he's just not a very good college QB. I can't imagine any college team is even interested in him at this point. I hope we can get past this whole thing of players getting 6th and 7th, esp 7th years.

Personally I'm for giving the kids 5 years, no need for redshirt, and that's it.

DJ U the Clemson/Oregon State QB to FSU.
Cam Ward the Wash State QB to the NFL

Talk is that Will Howard no longer headed to USC after the performance by the backup QB in the bowl game, reportedly could end up at Ohio State.
