This Washington/Utah game has been a great game. As expected the Utes came to play and lead 14-10 mid 2nd qtr.
I didn't see the last qtr of the Utah/Washington game and I see that the Huskies pulled it out. I was pretty impressed with Penix and his receivers. Sorry to see that the Utes lost though I really like their coach and the team. Very surprised at the outcome of the Tenn/Missouri game, not so much that the Vols lost but that they got badly beaten. Also that Northwestern beat Wisconsin, Luke Fickell not having a great 1st year. Biggest surprise though was UCF just hammering Oklahoma State. I thought after the big win last weekend over OU that they might win out in make the B12 Championship game.
NW has a decent chance to be bowl eligible which is amazing considering all of the turmoil at the start of the season. NW boards crediting Skip Holtz’s job of mentoring their newbie head coach who went from a FCS coordinator’s job to being to being tossed head first into the deep end of a shark infested pool.
Watching the Texas game, Longhorns are up 13-7, playing well but not exactly dominant. Saw some highlights of other games, Buckeyes are in alternate uniforms vs Mich State. Personally they look kind of drab to me, but what it the reason for them? Something to do with Veterans Day? I see that LSU has a slight lead over the Gators and looking at the stats, Jayden Daniels is just fine, might be on his way to 200 yds rushing along with a ton of passing yards. I love the way he plays.
Shootout in Baton Rouge, 31-28 in the 3rd, Jayden Daniels already has over 200yds rushing and 200 yards passing, talk about a 1 person offense.
beat down of the Gators in Baton Rouge. Jayden Daniels for over 600 yards, including 234 yards rushing and 5 TD's. A one man gang. Not sure LSU would be .500 without him.
Longhorns hold on for a 29-26 win in Ft. Worth. They looked in control at the half then took their foot off the gas and TCU found their offense and ran off a bunch of TD's. to make it close. The worst news though is Texas RB Jonathon Brooks left with what looks like a serious leg injury. He's already over 1000 yards and has been great all year. If he's out for the rest of the year, he will be missed. Ewers looked pretty good for having comeback from a shoulder injury just a few weeks ago.
For some reason I find myself drawn into the Michigan fold for the remainder of the season. In a sport where traditional values have pretty much been cast aside for big $$ it just kind of feels like UM is being virtue singled out for punishment. Penn State reminds me of Notre Dame. Always a decent team, probably a lock to win 9-10 games every year but never enough in the tank to win the really big games.
Their problem is no defense. Of course, Florida has no defense either and they don't have much offense.
Buckeyes had a pretty easy home game last night with MSU. The Spartans have really struggled this year amid all of the bad publicity with the former coach. Kyle McCord experienced his best game of the season last night throwing for over 320 yards. Marvin Harrison Jr had two receiving touchdowns and one rushing TD.
I'm a bit surprised that USC held Oregon to 36 points, I figured they would lay 50 on them like everybody else. Bo Nix gave another great performance. Heisman race is very competitive. Nix, Penix, Daniels, McCarthy all terrific years. No RB is having the kind of performance to get in the race, and even Marvin Harrison Jr who is having a terrific year isn't putting up the type of year Devonta Smith had when he won. "A Heisman-worthy performance from Bo," Lanning said. "We got a special one on our sidelines." Nix's numbers told one side of the story -- he completed 74% of his throws, averaged 13.3 yards per pass attempt and posted a 96.1 QBR. But the way in which he paced Oregon's offense -- from drives punctuated by explosive plays to methodical ones -- displayed how dynamic the Ducks attack can be on their way to their ninth win. Nix leads the nation in completion percentage at 77.7% and has 3,135 passing yards and 29 touchdowns passes this season, matching his total from last year. The fifth-year senior was a -150 favorite to win the Heisman at ESPN BET as of early Sunday morning
Jaylen Henderson, a quiet transfer from Fresno St started for the Aggies at QB and he has something Max Johnson does not: Wheels! When your OL is prone to breakdowns, it always helps to have a mobile QB and boy was the MSU defense unprepared to deal with that. Most of the story was the Aggie defense that continually mauled the Bulldog offense. 90 or so of their 200 yards came on 2 plays. MSU's only TD came on a run back of the opening kickoff...
Well... TexAgs has posted an article that Jimbo is headed out the door. That's a big bet to make if they don't have some serious intel. No idea where this goes.
I'm a bit surprised, George...You're kind of a follow the rules guy and cheating is cheating. The Michigan guys gave us no quarter for trading memorabilia for tattoos. The sign stealing scheme didn't really get to me until I see all the Michigan guys on Facebook (and my good friend Crazy John) doing the Alfred E. Neuman thing "What, me worry"? and acting like they are being persecuted for "doing absolutely nothing."
