November is where the rubber meets the road, conference championships on the line, rankings and bowl position. Oh and of course the CFP. Games on Thurs and Friday but nothing big/important. Saturday is where it's at. 1. Georgia v Missouri Best Mizzou team in awhile, but not good enough to win ibetween the hedges. Close game would be a big win for Mizzou. 2. Michigan v Purdue Latest sacrificial lamb to the Michigan Machine. Big story continues to the be cheating scandal. 3. Ohio State @ Rutgers Buckeyes should roll here, RU not the pushover they were before Schiano made his return but still not enough fire power to take down the Buckeyes. 4. FSU @ Pitt Panthers coming off their worst beating in years at Notre Dame, FSU likely to add to their pain. 5. Washington @ USC Huge game for both teams. Huskies have struggled to win the last 2 weeks against weaker foes in ASU and Stanford. It's also clear that USC isn't the super team people thought they might be, the defense is decidedly average. For the Trojans to win they will need the best version of Caleb Williams and at least a decent effort by their defense to pull the upset. 6. Oregon v CAL The Ducks went on the road and put a solid beat down on a good Utah team. CAL shouldn't be a problem for them in Autzen. 7. Texas v KState The Longhorns go with Malik Murphy again at QB, Kansas State is healthy at QB and on a good roll. Huge game for both teams in the B12 race. This should be a really good game. 8. Alabama v LSU Biggest game of the year in the SEC West. LSU has a terrific offense, maybe the best in college football. Jayden Daniels should be talked about in the same sentence as Michael Penix for the Heisman and if LSU wins he will. Tide offense seems a bit better, but still not a juggernaut and the defense is the key, Alabama has a very good one and LSU has at best a very average defense. I don't know what to expect except a very good game. 9. Penn State @ Maryland Nits still not a great offense but they are a good defense dare I say a Championship defense. Maryland will put up a fight but just not enough talent to take down PSU 10. Oklahoma @ Oklahoma State The last Bedlam game for a veryl long time most likely. Oklahoma State has the best player you've never heard of in RB Ollie Gordon II. He is putting up numbers that are Barry Sanders like, and that's saying something. OU is a fraud! I'm going with the Cowboys to pull the upset. Other games Texas A&M @ Ole Miss A huge game for both teams. Ole Miss needs the win to stay in the race for the SEC West title and the Aggies just need to keep winning to finish the season strong and get some relief from the fire Jimbo stuff. Aggie defense is going to be a problem for Ole Miss and if Max Johnson has a good game I see an upset here. Notre Dame @ Clemson. Another situation where both teams need the win badly. The Irish trying to finish the season strong and Clemson trying to ge their season back on track.
In other news. Iowa has fired Brian Ferentz, not fired by his dad though, the AD fired him. The odd thing is that he will continue to coach till the end of the season. The Hawkeyes have the worst passing game in the NCAA.
CFP committee rankings come out tonight. I predict very little difference if any between their rankings and the AP poll. I won't be shocked if Ohio State jumps ahead of UM though based on the weak schedule UM has played vs what Ohio State has played. I do imagine though that the Committee will pay no attention to the scandal around Michigan at this time.
CFP 1. Ohio State ...they gave the Buckeyes credit for playing and winning with a tough schedule 2. Georgia 3. Michigan 4. FSU 5. Washington 6. Oregon 7.Texas 8l Alabama 9.Oklahoma 10. Ole MIss So flipped the top 3 and dropped Penn State out of the top 10 moving Ole Miss into the #10 slot. Irish dropped from 12 to 15, jumped LSU,Missouri and Louisville over us.
The guys on ESPNU said that Rutgers is the 4th best Big Ten team, better than any Big 10 West squad. You Big 10 guys think that's right?
The guys on ESPNU...you mean the ones that weren't drafted and didn't make summer NFL camp, CFB experts?
Interesting to see what happens with the B1G commissioner. No adjudication by the NCAA will take place this year but the evidence of wrongdoing seems pretty established.
Gotta give em credit, 2nd and long with our passing game, CJ Stroud under center and MHJr and Egbuka singled up out wide, takes alot of stones or a great deal of insight to make that def call. Kudos to them particularly in light of the fact that the off play call was counter to Day's redzone tendencies. Simply brillant
There is an big article on The Athletic about the conference call and the Big 10 coaches are angry. Harbaugh still maintains there is nothing going on.. On Monday, coach Jim Harbaugh met with reporters and said "the people that know us the most think the most of us," as Michigan faces the NCAA investigation. He has denied knowledge of the alleged scouting. Purdue Coach went on record about his feelings. "They aren't allegations. It happened," Purdue coach Ryan Walters said Thursday night on his radio show ahead of Saturday's game against the Wolverines. "There's video evidence. There's ticket purchases and sales you can track back. We know for a fact they were at a number of our games. We've had to teach our guys a new language." My question is how do you punish Michigan?
If they don't covert to electronic communications after this fiasco they deserve whatever happens going forward.
I guess I somewhat see what you are saying, but there are rules against what was done. Shouldn't that be enough?
It would seem so, but still they need to come into the 21st Century and stop all the stupid Poster Boards on the sidelines. It's an easy fix, and the stuff about it voiding the warranty on the helmets...come on give me a break. The helmet mfg make helmets for the NFL no problem, they can adapt their college helmets and the warranty's.
