You can bet that you will see a lot of crazy costumes in the student sections of the games this weekend.

Only non-Saturday Power 5 game is Thursday Nights match between Syracuse and Va.Tech in Blacksburg. Enter Sandman!

    Saturday:

    1. Georgia v Florida Used to be called the Worlds Largest Outdoor Coctail Party, but in 1988 they dropped it.
The "World's Largest Cocktail Party" moniker proved so popular that the City of Jacksonville used it officially for many years. However, the city dropped it from most official usage in 1988 following a series of alcohol-fueled outbursts

Gators have been trending up but not enough to match the Dawgs.

    2. Michigan bye

    3. Ohio State @ Wisconsin A little to early in his remake of the Badgers program for Luke Fickel to have a chance with the Buckeyes, that is unless the Buckeyes go to Madison on cruise control expecting to win.

    4. FSU @ Wake Forrest As Tim noted in the ND topic, Wake is not a good team. FSU is a good team

5.Washington @ Stanford Sometimes you worry about going on the road and playing in a hostile environment. My guess is that there will be double or triple the number of Huskies fans in the stands. Michael Penix didn't have a great game vs an improving Arizona team, he'll get well this weekend

    6. OU @ Kansas Last week I said that OU would name the score vs UCF, well they went out and nearly got beat. KU is a well coached team, certainly short of the Sooners when it comes to 4 and 5 star talent but Lance Leopold is an excellent coach and the Sooners better bring respect for the Jayhawks

    7. Texas vs BYU Longhorns will start Malik Murphy now that Quin Ewers is gone for multiple weeks. Sark doesn't want to rely on true freshman Arch Manning. Plus Murphy showed a lot during the spring and in the spring game. I won't be shocked if he breaks out and Ewers doesn't get his job back. BYU has been a bit up and down but the Longhorns should have too much talent to lose at home.

8.Oregon @ Utah This should be a great game, Ducks are very talented and Bo Nix is still in the mix for the Heisman. The Utes though are not a team to be taken lightly, they play tough defense and are well coached. If the former walk-on has another good game they could win, although he'll be facing a much better defense in the Ducks than he did vs USC.

    9. Alabama bye Did you guys see Josh Heuple's response to the question as to whether he felt he got a fair shake from the refs in the Alabama game. He didn't say anything but what he didn't say, said he thought the his team had to not only beat the Tide but the refs as well.

    10. PSU vs IU Should be a nice change for the Nit's and get them back on track.

    other games

Notre Dame vs Pitt Should be a win for the Irish, Pitt not very good but as always they have scholarship players who want to win, so best to remember that and come ready to play.

South Carolina @ Texas A&M Aggies should win but as always the other side will actually come and try to win. Aggies and Jimbo need a solid win this weekend.

Duke @ Louisville Duke has the big upset of Clemson to start the season and Louisville has the big win at home vs the Irish. Louisville failed to show up for the game with Pitt and Duke with a hampered Riley Leonard just didn't have enough offense. I expect that Louisville will bring that high pressure defense that the Irish couldn't handle.

I guess the next piece of evidence will be examining the bullet wound in Michigan’s foot.

At best, this may be a situation of an enterprising, ambitious staffer recruiting friends on his own account and using the filmed info to decode the signals. He provides the decoded info to the DC and staff but does not inform the staff how he was able to decode and the staff does not ask him how he was able to decode.

At worst, it is a situation where his higher ups knew what was going on although H denied this. Not sure the denial will be accepted at face value by anyone not associated with Michigan.

Whatever scenario is true, I think Michigan is in the deep end of the NCAA pool on this.

How firm is the support behind Harbaugh among the Admin, Board and any influential donors with a voice? Certain to be a lot of heat incoming from all corners

I was listening to ESPNU, and they said that Caleb Williams is being advised to leave the USC team and begin preparing for the NFL and not risk injury playing behind the USC OL.

On the Michigan story, while I don't know where it goes, but there is no way the NCAA or the Big 10 will move fast enough to impact the 2023 season.

Judging by the M boards, there is growing realization that M has a problem. When the story first hit, nearly all maintained this was a big nothing burger. After the ESPN story hit, the reaction shifted to “ Oh s**t”.

The most optimistic of the fan base is speculating this is a loan wolf operation. But, how does a lesser known staffer making 55K a year finance paying for top shelf tickets and ancillary expenses for his compatriots? Sparty bulletin boards are pasting Venmo screenshots of payments made to and from the staffer for “merchandise” purchases.

One other thought. If you were a buddy of the staffer helping him film, might you not wager on M knowing that M has decided the opponent’s signals?

Agree with that but M might....he was suspended for 3 games earlier. This would seem to add another dimension.

Hadn't really thought about that, he has already said he had no knowledge of this, certainly possible. So would UM take action, unless their own internal investigation shows that not to be a true statement.

In the other case I believe everyone agreed that Harbaugh lied to the investigators. So it was easy to suspend him even though the NCAA said they wanted to think about it before coming to a decision on the punishment.

Latest from Sark. No definitive word on how long he's going to be out. From what I am reading it's going to be tough to come back to play and be 100 % this season.

    Big opportunity for Malik Murphy.

A freshman redshirt in 2022, Murphy held off Manning, an early enrollee, this spring and summer to hold on to the No. 2 job. Murphy has appeared in four games in mop-up duty but is just 4 of 8 passing overall. Manning has not played yet.

    Sarkisian called both "elite competitors."

"Maalik a natural passer. He throws a very beautiful ball," Sarkisian said. "There's not a throw he can't make."

They've already suspended the perp, after this revelation Harbaugh would seem to be the logical next step. Just don't know how hard the Board is gonna squeeze the admin. Not a good look for them, my guess is they'll be pressing hard given that they're already under the gun on another matter.

I wonder if the big donors will side with no action till after the season to protect the chance at a National Championship. Even if it is vacated at a later date

The article referred to a rule that says the coach is responsible for everything that goes on in the program even if he wasn’t aware.

A lot on the line for UM. A lot of reasons to fight the allegations and back Harbaugh.

It will take a confident AD / University President to take action before the Big 10 / NCAA.
Michigan is the new consensus betting favorite to win the College Football Playoff and also boasts the Heisman Trophy favorite at sportsbooks around the nation.

The Wolverines moved ahead of Georgia in the national championship odds over the weekend. They're +220 at Caesars Sportsbook, followed by the two-time defending champion Bulldogs at +280. It's the first time this season a team other than Georgia has been the favorite, and the first time in the playoff era that Michigan has been the national title favorite.

Michigan quarterback J.J. McCarthy became the consensus betting favorite to win the Heisman at sportsbooks after throwing for four touchdowns in the Wolverines' 49-0 rout of Michigan State on Saturday. McCarthy is the Heisman favorite at +230, followed by Washington quarterback Michael Penix Jr. at +280 at Caesars Sportsbook.

Oh yeah, Heuple must have forgotten that there were 17 penalties called against Alabama last year in Knoxville. Nobody whined about it. Also, no goal posts were damaged in the filming of the game in Tuscaloosa.:D

Whether Harbaugh is involved or not...I dunno. Would like to believe him. But OTOH how does one guy...the DC, get the info from Connor Stalions and then call out all the perfect defensive sets without everyone else on the team seeing that there's some kind of inside info...Jesse Minter (DC) has to know that something is going on, even if he wasn't actively involved. The articles I'm reading say that most of the B1G teams knew that something was going on.

I'm not sure it even gained much, if any, advantage. The tragedy is in the reputation and the fallout...Michigan is so good YOU DIDN'T HAVE TO DO THIS!!!!!

This clip shows me that the issue around him stealing signals is no longer in doubt. This was the first drive of our game last year. Whether or not he stole signals tho is not the real problem for M, the problem is how he got them and the evidence thus far doesn't look good
