I can't imagine very many people did, for quite a while they didn't even have a TV deal and when they finally did I don't know anybody who tuned in to it. Plus they are pretty much dead now with the new deal between them and the PGA Tour.
I watch a lot of golf. Never seen one second of LIV goofy golf. I think I mentioned before that I play golf in Florida with a childhood friend of Koepka. He insists that this version is nothing like the one he grew up with and they were close buddies through high school.
Just wondering how everyone is going to watch the matches. Stay up late (starts at 1.30) Get up early. Or like me watch it recorded the next morning.
Not sure what's gonna work best for me, prob record and watch when I get up. Prob get up early Sunday to watch the last day matches live
The hard part of record and watch is avoiding the spoilers. I hate knowing the outcome before I see the competition.
It's the same every time we play in Europe, and I end up not really watching very much, same thing for the Solheim Cup which was in Spain. I hope we win of course and I might watch some of the coverage on TV even though I'll know the outcome when I watch. I saw one comment that this course is so hilly that caddies are going to need to be in great shape to carry the bags 36 holes a day for some of them.
So are the Euros ready? Well here's Viktor Hovland in his final tune-up teeing off on a par 4. As Bill Murray once said "IT'S IN THE HOLE!!!!"
Nice birdie! I actually played with a guy who dunked his tee shot on a short par 3 over water and then hit his next one in the hole.
I didn't know the home team got to choose the order of things. Thre was a lot os discussion on why the Euro's chose to open with Foursomes instead of Alternate Shots. Mostly they said that the Euro's were so good at Foursomes that it was more important to finish the opening day off strong than get off to a strong start.
His first drive was OB, then he hit in the hole. At least that is what they said on the Golf Channel. 1 out, 2 back on the tee, 3 in the hole...Birdie!
Man talk about getting blown out. Zach is going to get a lot of criicism. Already coming from the talking heads on Golf Channel. Very criticial of pairing Sam Burns with Scottie Scheffler, and not getting a proven winner in Koepka in the mix in the Foursomes. What I don't quite undefstand is why are the Americans so bad at Foursomes?
