One thing is that we are likely to be in the market for a Portal QB next year as well. All 3 QB's, Angeli, Minchey and Carr all very inexperienced.

Well at least by then we'll have some talented experienced receivers. Last years crew left a lot to be desired.

Good news, Irish picked up a verbal from Georgia WR, Isiah Canion, a nice 3 star player with upside. He's not a blazer though and played QB not WR last year.

Logan Diggs to the Portal. Didn't see that coming, but there are a lot of RB's on the roster. I did seem like he was likely to be #2 behind Estime and they both got a lot of carries in the offense last year so it wasn't like he was looking at spot duty. Or maybe the younger guys showed a lot in the Spring and he figured the carries were going to be split even more.

    Oh well...good luck to him.

    From Irish Illustrated.

Irish Illustrated and 247Sports have learned that Notre Dame running back Logan Diggs has entered the Transfer Portal. This is a blow for the Fighting Irish running back room, but one the can withstand due to the depth at the position.

Returning to the Notre Dame backfield is Audric Estime, who ran 156 times last season for 920 yards and 11 scores. In addition, the Irish have an emerging young back in Gi’Bran Payne, who had a stellar spring. Lost for the season in 2022 was Jadarian Price, a four-star running back who was having a tremendous spring before going down with an injury. With Estime, Payne and Price, the Fighting Irish should be more than fine in the backfield led by running backs coach Deland McCullough.

In addition, Notre Dame signed four-star running back Jeremiyah Love, an Under Armour All-American, who arrives in June. He’s expected to play in some capacity from day one.

Prister on Canion being a 3 star.

If WR-Isiah Canion (another one with all Notre Dame Crystal Ball picks) chooses the Irish, again, look for an In The Film Room detailing his skillset. There is no way on God’s green earth that Canion will remain a 247Sports three-star, regardless of what school he chooses. He’s a rock-solid four-star prospect. In fact, a high four-star prospect.

We all knew that we had excess roster problems, we just didn't know how the problems were going to be solved. You figured that some players were going to hit the portal. You'd expect that those that did have an opportunity to play somewhere else. The fact that Diggs feels he was threatened by the talent of other players is a good sign to me.

Ref: Diggs. At first I was surprised then I remembered we’ve heard talk of him possibly transferring since he got to SB.
    Just love this Portal….

I watched most of the ND-Va. game. The Va. goal keeper had a very good game. They're going to be tough to beat in the playoffs.

Kennedy Urlacher, son of Bears great Brian gave his verbal to Notre Dame. He's a safety.

Urlacher’s father, Brian, an NFL Hall of Famer, gave his son advice to make academics a priority and that’s exactly what the Arizona native did.

“My dad has always told me that education should be the biggest thing for me,” Urlacher stated. “Playing big-time football was going to happen with most of my offers, but not everywhere allowed me to play big-time football and get a great education. It was really a no-brainer.”
