I like Masters week as well. It looks like the weather will be a factor this year. I am hoping all of the LIV players miss the cut.
JT would be a worthy winner for sure, and I could go with that as Texas already has 3 Alums who have won the Masters. I think Stanford has the most wins, since Tiger is a Stanford Alum. I think Tom Watson is the only other Stanford grad to win the Masters though. I notice that no LIV golfer is gong to be in any of the "Featured" groups on Thursday. Good. Fun piece of trivia. Billy Casper who won in 1970 and had a great career, attended Notre Dame for not quite full semester. The winter got him and he left for home (San Diego) and joined the Navy.
Glad to hear that. We've had that for a while. We like a number of their shows such as the Yellowstone prequels, The King of Tulsa and the Criminal Minds show. Right now we're enjoying Rabbit Hole. I usually watch the first day online until coverage starts. Will ESPN be doing the first 2 days. I watch so little of them these days I haven't seen any commercials for it.
Par 3 contest is not on Paramount+, I'm watching it live on the ESPN App on my TV. It"s fun to watch with all the kids/wives etc involved.
I thnk Kevin Kisner gets the award for the cutest 3 kids out there. His oldest daughter took a swing with the driver on one of the holes (water hole) and almost got it to the green. Big crowd out there today as well.
Seamus Power gets a hole in one, first one of the day. He gets a beautiful Waterford Crystal Bowl for that effort, interesting he's Irish and from Waterford!!
Seamus Power just aced #9 after acing #8. 2 Waterford Crystal Bowls! What's amazing how many holes the players hit the ball beyond the hole and suck it all the way back. Power's shot on #9 had to be 25-30 feet past the hole and it sucked all the way back and he even read the break correctly to get hole in one.
Scottie Scheffle just aced #9 as well, he flew it directly into the hole. It took them awhile to figure out that he did it, as he and the 2 guys he was playing with hit their balls off the tee at the same time. There were 3 balls below the hole and one ball in the hole. At first they said Seamus Power never took his ball out of the hole, but then they went to the video and confirmed his went in, and the other ball was just left their by the previous group.
Si Woo Kim's wife is caddying for him today and she's also a pro golfer on the LPGA tour, she has more wins than he does and stepped up and hit a ball inside his on one of the holes.
Looks like I posted some erroneous information earlier this morning. As Terry pointed out the Par 3 coverage was only on ESPN. ESPN will televise Thursday and Friday rounds. You can watch those rounds on ESPN, ESPN App or YoutubeTV. Certain segments and clips will be available on Paramount+. My apologies
Rahm doubled #1 and then righted the ship quickly with back to back birdies on #2 and #3. He and Hovland lead right now at -7 Scheffler is having a good round as is Jordan Speith.
Rahm, Hovland and Koepka are tied a -7. Spieth had a great round going till a Bogey #11 and double #13 derailed him. Scottie had a good day could've been better if his putter was hot. Amateur Sam Bennett of Texas A&M had a magical day, he was bogey free at -4. He'll wake up tomorrow and realize he's at the Masters!!
