Although to be fair many schools have dropped the SAT/ACT scores as part of the admission package. Including Ivy League. Including Notre Dame.

. Standardized tests. Notre Dame is test-optional for the 2023 and 2024 application cycles: Applicants may choose whether or not to submit their ACT or SAT scores. Learn more about our test-optional program and check out our test-optional FAQs for further information.

Well Texas, Oklahoma and the B12 reached a number that will allow them to leave and begin playing in the SEC in 2024. 100 Million Dollars!

Oklahoma and Texas have agreed in principle to pay the Big 12 conference a total of $100 million to join the SEC in 2024, a year earlier than they had originally intended, the Big 12 conference announced on Thursday evening.

The agreement is subject to the final approval from the Oklahoma and Texas governing boards. While the price tag, a fee that the league is describing as foregone distributable revenues, seems like a hefty amount to pay for the early exit, both schools are expected to be able to partially offset the cost with future revenues.

Apparently the those 3 are not the only parties key to making this work a year early.

Two sources told ESPN that instead of multiple games and pick swaps, which were a big part of the initial negations, the agreement came down to cash. A portion of the more than $100 million in exit fees will go to Fox to compensate for the equivalent of seven lost Texas and Oklahoma games.

A key part of the deal to let the two schools out early was a game flip of a non-conference matchup between Michigan and Texas, sources told ESPN. Texas will now visit Michigan in 2024 in Ann Arbor and Michigan will return the game in Austin in 2027, according to sources. That game had been scheduled to play out the opposite way. The flip was a key driver in Fox agreeing to the deal, per sources.

Can we assume the folks in Austin are writing some of the check to cover for Norman?
Pretty sure the Land thieves don't have that kind of cash sitting around...

I really don't care about the Super Bowl at all but I will be pulling for Jalen Hurts, Davonta Smith, Landon Dickerson and Josh Jobe, who all play for the Eagles. Roll Tide!

Well we're looking for a new OL coach as Harry Heistand has retired. Liked Rees and doesn't want to work for another OCoord.

Of course when you change a Coordinator all the coaches on that side of the ball are on shaky ground. New guy usually want his own guys.

Terry, this seems to be the answer per an article from 11 Warriors quoting Gene Smith:

Ohio State will no longer play Washington in 2024 and 2025.

OSU announced Wednesday that it has canceled its scheduled home-and-home series with the Huskies in 2024 and 2025, instead opting to replace that series with a pair of home games against opponents to be determined.

Ohio State athletic director Gene Smith said it was OSU who decided to cancel the series and that OSU will owe Washington a $500,000 cancellation penalty that it must pay to Washington by February 2025.

“I have the utmost respect for the University of Washington and for Director of Athletics Jennifer Cohen, and this was a very difficult call to make,” Smith said in a statement. “As a result of the cancellation, we will add an eighth home game for the 2024 season, affording us the opportunity to have the funding to pay the penalty and guarantee for that eighth opponent.”

Ohio State, which will play only six home games in 2023 after playing eight home games in 2022, is now planning to play eight home games again in 2024, when Ohio State was scheduled to travel to Seattle to play Washington. The Buckeyes still plan to play seven home games in 2025, when they were scheduled to host the Huskies at Ohio Stadium.

We'll see how that is tempered with having a full stable of talented wide receivers and hopefully a versatile quarterback.
