For those interested, Purdue's Matt Painter's post-game comments on IU's Trayce Jackson-Davis: Painter: "Trayce is fabulous. Just a great person. Great player. We were on him early and put a lot of time into him, and obviously he chose to come here. That's his choice, but he's fabulous. He has added more pieces to his game. His decision-making, when he first started — when you doubled him, it was just OK. Now he has got where he is really good. Tonight, he was physical. When he made moves and he did stuff, our guys were bouncing off of him. It was impressive. He made a couple of spin moves, and the dunks. He has got a bright future. There are some really, really intelligent NBA people out there that understand that. So you can look at those mock drafts or whatever, but he is gonna spend a long time in the NBA. He is fabulous, and he is a super, super person. When Caleb Swanigan passed away, he reached out to me and sent me a text. It just kind of shows you what is inside of him."
The Aggies took down Auburn for the 2nd time this season tonight in College Station. Gotta keep winning but I like how this group has rounded into shape.
Longhorns lost a tough one to KU at Allen Field House the other night. We are still in 1st place in the B12 but KU looks like they are finally healthy and playing like people expected. They got out fast on us and while we made a run and had the game tied later, then KU had a spurt and we never caught them after that, it was a good game.
Yeah, Alabama basketball has made been the the turnaround story of the year. Oates has done a check of a job so far.
New Mexico State shutdown it's mens basketball program and put the coaching staff on administrative leave while it investigates violations of University rules. No further explanation given. During the peak of the Covid we had teams shutdown due to covid but there has never been team shut down midseason before in NCAA history. Wonder what the heck went on.
Wow, Duke, yeah Duke, got screwed by the refs on the last play of the game. That would have never happened if Coach K were on the bench. Duke always got the call. They should have had 2 foul shots to win the game in regulation, instead they lose in OT. ACC confirmed that the refs made the wrong call.
Yep...and a lot of them were muggings causing the turnovers. The whole second half was a mugfest and we did not adjust well. Our freshmen guards have been fantastic all year but they looked a little flustered...like freshmen.
I only watched the tail end of the game, but Purdue's finish was very uncharacteristic. The loss did not affect todays poll so that is a positive.
Don I read an article by an Ohio State writer, Robbie Weinstien. The jist of it was that it was time for him to move on at the end of the season. He thinks he'd be good for a mid-major or Notre Dame . Holtmann would be a perfect fit at many high-major schools. Nebraska rings the bell in the Big Ten. Or really any program that cannot realistically compete for 5-star talent on a yearly basis. He is, by all accounts, a smart man and a good man. But not the man for Ohio State. 12COMMENTS Ohio State is coming up on 10 years of a relatively underwhelming basketball product considering its potential as a program. Holtmann should move on this offseason to Notre Dame if he has the chance. As for the Buckeyes, they should bring in a head coach who will once again establish the scarlet and gray as a frightening force on the recruiting trail in the Midwest. "Good" is not good enough for Ohio State. The Daily Dish: Ohio State's frustrating season casts doubt on Holtmann's future
Talk about your bulletin board material!! Hunter Dickinson the Michigan Big was on a Barstool Sports podcast and called Wisconsin a bunch of scumbags, said it several times. Then he went into the arena tonight wearing a ski mask to 'steal" a win.
