I think to varying degrees we are all in the same boat here; we have watched the game we love bastardized to the point where we barely recognize it. Virtually none of the characteristics of college football that we grew up with are recognizable at this point. It is now a slickly packaged, high tech production with little or no mention of academics or even the school in general. its like Rollerball, a corporate extravaganza so carefully choreographed that it defies loyalty or school spirit, staffed by a bunch of pre-adult mercenaries. In my case, after 5 years of boycotting the NFL because of their anti-cop, race baiting tactics wrapped around the Kaepernick fiasco, I find myself watching select games in bit and pieces to get my football fix. It's not nearly as exciting as the college game but oddly more genuine.

Looks like puffs of white smoke are coming from the chimney of the Athletic Administration Building

The key thing is that the tweet was from the university’s president. Looks like he took over the negotiations and bypassed the AD which makes me think that the relationship between the AD and H is not a good one. Was this year’s NFL flirtation a move by H against the AD? It is down in the rabbit hole time in Ann Arbor.

I wonder if he's getting job offers from the NFL and turning them down?

I think he is an excellent coach and will have a great season in 23 at M but not sure any NFL GM is inclined to put a filled gas can and a Zippo lighter in the office next to theirs.

I can see how the UM administration would get annoyed by this yearly ritual.

he has an excellent team coming back most importantly the qb . schedule sets up nicely to be 11-0 when the Buckeyes come to Ann Arbor.

Florida gave their QB whose NIL deal went south his release. Leaves both parties in a pickle though. The kid is in limbo with many if not almost all of the schools he might have interest in already set at QB in their 2023 class and the Gators now without a QB recruit in their 2023 class.

Rashada was set to be an early enrollee and now I wonder where he can go and get that big NIL deal and enroll early. He can't sign a LOI until Feb. For some reason I don't feel sorry for the kid. He's been chasing the payday over all else. I have to assume he could've renegotiated with the Gator collective for a lesser dollar amount, if he'd really wanted to play for the Gators.

If he left because of NIL, then I don't feel sorry for him at all. Business is business.

The thing is for this kid, if he really liked the Gators. Liked Billy Napier, liked the offense and the OCoord and QB coach and thought they would develop him and that he had a shot at early playing time and all that, then why not talk to the collective and see if they could pony up 5 Million or so and he could then enroll and play. Esp if he really wanted to be there. I am going to guess that at this point that he's going to end up some place and get a lot less than that ridiculous 13M he thought he was going to get from UF and maybe it'll be someplace that he's previously felt like wasn't the best place for him academically, socially and from a football standpoint.

I saw one article that he was going to consider Arizona State a program in dissarray with a new head coach and I'll bet for a lot less money.
