Penn State twice went to the T formation or Full House Backfield inside the 5 and scored both times. Lou Holtz used that a lot in similar situations and was very successful. I wonder why more teams don't use that in short yardage situations.
I think it was TCU that ran a quarterback sneak where a H back came in motion and stopped behind the quarterback and pushed him from behind. It makes it almost impossible to stop at least a one yd gain it seems. Whichever team that did it used it a couple of times and made the first down each time.
"Panthers owner David Tepper has talked with Michigan coach, Jim Harbaugh about the Panthers head coaching vacancy, a league source confirmed." This is probably not good news for Mich fans. Not sure though.
According to the crawler on ESPN both parties characterized the meeting as “not” an interview. Just sayin.
H could easily end this by putting out a press release stating his intention of staying at M and that he is will not interview for an NFL job. Choosing not to do so suggests he will move back to the NFL if the right offer is made. His contract states that must notify the university if he is interviewing for a job so there might be a couple of “just talking hypotheticals” taking place now. H has done at great job rebuilding the program after it cratered under RR and Hoke but this yearly sniffing for a new job has to be damaging for recruiting and staff and player morale. At this point, if he notifies M that he is interviewing, would not blame the AD if he paid H his buy out and hired someone who wants to be at M.
One other point re Harbaugh. He also is supposedly in negotiations with M re reworking his contract so the NFL contacts could be a leverage move. M is in the position of a husband with a crazy trophy wife. Every time he return home after a long work day, he wonders why the toilet seat is up when he is certain he put in down before he left for work in the morning.
Did Spencer Sanders (Oklahoma State QB) end up anywhere. I was a bit surprised he went to the portal but I thought for sure he'd end up at a good spot. He's got some game.
Petrino just took the UNLV OC job a couple of weeks ago, quit as the HC at Missouri State. A very odd hire.
Guess we'll see if he's over the motorcycle rides with younger ladies... He ran a pretty good offense at Arky, hopefully he didn't lose that when he fell off the bike!
